„Very nice hotel although aspects are due for update. Comfortable rooms and dining space. Excellent breakfast choice and quality. Staff are very distant however - no smiles, no pleasantries and they generally don’t seem to like to be bothered. All staff appear like this. “

„I liked the location best. It is easy to access and centrally located in town; very walkable. The staff is very attentive and willing to help. Breakfast and other food options are excellent. Parking is not on-site and closest is a paid lot one hundred meters from the inn. Our room was directly above the street and entrance to the inn, so it was a bit noisy. Overall, I recommend Temperance Inn.“

„Nice staff. We were walking the Pennine Way and got there at about 6.20pm. Were told last orders for food was 7pm so mad rush to get in a fit state to eat! Food was very nice. Rooms nice. Would recommend. “

„What more could you ask for than a property where the supermarket (and many eateries) are around the corner and the bus stop is opposite the front door. Rayrigg is perfectly located, with a bus every 20 mins to take you to the railway station (about a 10 minute walk) or to other towns in the District. Just note, if you are challenged by directions, Lake Windermere is in an area called Bowness, and about a 45 minute walk to Ellerthwaite Square. I had the top room, so plenty of stairs to climb, ...
