„This was a great spot for the 2 of us and our dog. You truly cannot beat how close to the ocean you are. Enjoyed the proximity to the beach the best. A lot of sand gets tracked in because it is on ground level. We had a broom but no dish pan so we just used paper plates to try and clean everything up. Kitchen was fine, nice fridge and everything worked. The only downfall was that there was not an outdoor shower! If you decide to stay here, bring a 5 gallon bucket to fill up with to try and wash ...

„I first saw the Foxhole #3 on previous visits to Kitty Hawk with friends. As we passed by the house, I would often say that it looked like a great place to stay at the beach. Years later, I have now stayed there and I was not wrong. It was great! Cozy, quiet and you can't get closer to the beach. I counted 100 steps from the back step to water's edge.“

„Exactly as advertised. Simple, no-frills, pet friendly beach house in a very nice neighborhood. When we arrived the water had been turned off (for the winter?). We messaged the host and she had the water co there in 30 mins! Great host, very responsive. Big TV. Stack W/D is great to have. Everything works. We spent 5 nights and would stay there again for sure.“

Everything was very clean, my husband loved the bike.From a european perspective, I like to recommend to the owners to have some laundry detergent available, as well as maybe basic seasonings like salt and pepper, maybe oil. Otherwise it was a great stop during our road trip.“

Everything was extremely clean, kitchen was well stocked with essentials, and pool/beach supplies were available for guest use. Literally a couple of minutes walk away from the public beach, and a parking permit is provided if you prefer to drive.“

„Blackbeard’s Retreat was clean, however could use an update. Awesome location, could benefit from an outdoor hose or shower, we needed to rinse off with the neighbor’s hose. It suited our needs for a couple days. “

„The cottage itself was cute and if properly cleaned and maintained it would have been wonderful. The floor/tiles in one bathroom were loose, in the other bathroom the floor felt "squishy" and there were multiple broken/cracked shelves in the shower. Two of the burners on the stove did not work and when using the stove/oven there was smoke. The window when opened to alleviate the smoke would not stay open. This property allows pets and unfortunately their cleaning and repairs do not keep up with ...

„We had a great stay! The cottage was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The decor was cozy and welcoming, and the beds were soft and comfortable. The kids’ room was thoughtfully set up. We especially enjoyed the back porch overlooking the golf course—it was such a peaceful spot to unwind. The hot tub was a great bonus and made our stay even more relaxing. Our hosts were accommodating and kept in near-instant communication, which made everything smooth and stress-free.“

„Taylor’s house is in such a great location at end of cul de sac. communication was always quick and accurate. such a special experience being able to take pets with us. great access to wonderful beach, yet home feels like you are in your own private retreat. “

„Great property- had everything we needed. Close to downtown Duck, yet far enough away where we weren’t in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Easy access to Corolla and points South. Located on a private street with access to the beach, a quick 5 minute walk. The pool was a great escape when we needed a break from the hot sand. The house was clean and had all the amenities we could need!“

"The location is beautiful especially with the priveate beach access. Also the main building l9kks nice and well maintained. Our room was in one of the side buildings. There as soon as you leave the room itself it feels a bit dirty and worn down. The doors and walls in the hallway have bumps and scratches. The carpet is torn and has stains. But the worst are the stair cases. The windows are covered with spider webs and dead bugs. All of this could be avoided easily and would lead to a better impression."
