« This is once again a terrible experience using a VRBO listing. We were contacted a few minutes to check-in that the cleaning staff were not done and ready for us to occupy. This was awful because we had been out and about all day and needed to clean up and freshen up because we had a show to attend in Shepherdstown at 5:30 pm. I told the contact we did not care if cleaning people were there we needed to get in at 4pm as promised and we would be gone in 40 minutes!!! but we need to get ready!...

« Disclaimer: not a guest that likes to reach out to the host during a stay. I do message ahead to confirm things.TL;DR: place overall neat, host nice, likely more ideal if just humans. Great view off the deck. Multiple TVs. A French press & water kettle available if you bring coffee & tea. Water cooler worked well. Not as secluded* as exterior pictures indicate. Pets restricted to main living room and kitchen area. —-Place was clean. Been curious about art frame TVs, neat to see them in action....

« We stopped here on our way to Shenandoah. It was a last minute find for our family of six (teens and you adult kids). We got in at 7 went to eat at Benders and played trivia and darts. Had a great walk by the vineyard behind the house and the civil war park. Host was great and responsive. Could see this as a great location for a Girls weekend too. »

« Everything about this place is 5 stars. It’s clean and comfortable with a very convenient location. You can walk into downtown Harpers Ferry in 15 mins or less, theres multiple cafe/coffee shops within walking, and a grocery store less than 10 min drive. I stayed here with my 3 kids and we had plenty of room & everything needed was provided, at least enough to last our short stay. « We were looking forward to our first visit to Harpers Ferry, unfortunately we left early. The house was clean but, the windows have only sheets curtains, therefore at night there’s no privacy, anyone can see you from the road. Also some windows don’t lock. We did receive 100.00 back towards the night we didn’t used. »
