Stunning Beachside villa in paradise!
My wife and I spent a week visiting my son and his girlfriend, who live in Bangkok. We’ve been to Phuket, but wanted to go to Ko Samui because we had heard many great things. After looking at various hotels and other properties, we finally found Blanka‘s beautiful home.The property is walkable distance to the beach, but the better beaches and busier tourist areas require transportation. After the courtesy ride front the airport provided by the host and seeing the tight curves, fast cars, and clueless tourists on scooters, we decided against renting a car or a scooter and instead relied on Grab or the driver recommended by the host. I didn’t do the math but I think we probably spend maybe 50-75 more for six days of peaceful car transportation with a local (and, more importantly, designated ) driver versus a week of navigating those hair-raising twist and turns.Of course, with the current season of “the White Lotus“ is all filmed in Ko Samui, so the resulting tourism boom is full underway and, we were told, more crowded than normal.
