I stayed for two nights and found my room and bed very comfortable. It’s a simple hotel but it’s clean, comfortable, with friendly staff. The owner was also about and he would check in on us personally when he saw us. The TV is a little older so if you are stopping to rest and watch a show, the image is a little blurry, but otherwise good. The kitchen was undergoing maintenance during my stay, so the breakfast was a cold continental - coffee, tea, juice, and pastries like croissants, cookies, and muffins. Coffee was good. I was told they sometimes have a warm breakfast like eggs when the kitchen is functional. The AC worked really well and kept the room cool, not noisy at all. Although the location is right at the main entrance of Lac La Biche, the area is quiet, probably because of a school across the street so cars slow down, and you can walk to the downtown to check out the handful of shops and restaurants there are. There weren’t a lot of people, but I could hear other patrons walking and talking when they passed in front of my door, so maybe not as private as other places.
If all you need is a clean, comfortable place to sleep and don’t mind a light breakfast, this is a a nice spot. If you are looking for a place with other amenities like a pool for the kids, not so close to the downtown area, or away from a main road, then maybe not. Price is very affordable! Would consider staying there again.
