This was our second stay at The Getaway. It's such a perfect place for us- close to Okoboji, a nice swimming pool and a playground. The accommodations are clean, eye appealing & have everything you need for a comfortable stay! The Cornhole game was a fun addition!

Cozy house that is very well maintained with 2 bedrooms on the main floor and 1 in the basement with its own bathroom. The hosts even provided cheese and crackers and other snacks which was extremely appreciated after a 9 hour drive from Indiana. We had 6 adults in our party and the house did not feel crowded. The game room in the basement provided an awesome place for us all to hang out. Would highly recommend staying here.

Bed & pillows very comfortable. Plenty of towels. Nicely furnished & decorated. Had everything supplied to cook meals. Hosts were very accomodating, promptly replied to texts. Basement was very nicely done, included washer & dryer. Even had rollaway beds available.Didn‘t get to spend much time in the backyard because of rain, but great gathering place.

Very nice and quiet spot to stay. Very clean and stocked with snacks and games. The tabletop fire was a perfect end to the night. Will definitely stay again when visiting okoboji! Only complaint is there were a lot of spiders around the outside of the front and back door.

The Getaway is a cute and cozy little gem in Lake Park, IA. Close enough to Spirit Lake/Okoboji/Arnolds Park without having to stay in the hustle and bustle. The house is very spacious, the bedrooms were all good sized and it was nice having two full bathrooms. Our kids enjoyed the game room and Pac-Man in the basement. All the comforts of home with great outdoor space. There are plenty of towels and bedding on hand, a washer and dryer to clean your clothes and we appreciated all the dimmer switches for the lights. The only things we thought could be improved-a dehumidifier in the basement and a few extra nightlights. There is a playground close by and the town is quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend The Getaway!

We really enjoyed the stay. The house was very clean and accommodating. They really put a lot of thought into everything that they have provided for your stay and that made the stay that much more comfortable being away from home. The basement was great and our kids really enjoyed the space. I would definitely rent this place again the next time we decide to come to the Okoboji area.

The property was neat and tidy with some great extras like meat and cheese tray comfortable beds Fast check in and out. Lovely backyard with shade structure gas grill and gas fire pit. Cornhole game and games in the game room. Lovely stay!

We really enjoyed having our run of a nice house so close to the Iowa Great Lakes. There are many added touches including a nice backyard setup with tables and chairs. The hosts went out of their way to please. We would stay again.

My family and I stayed at The Getaway during the June 2024 Flood of Northern Iowa for a week. The hosts kept us informed of road closures, etc but the proprty itself was never flooded. We had 3 teenagers in towed (17,16 &13) so they love the game room and the backyard with BBQ grill and fire pit. We love the rooms, bathrooms and the small touches such as welcome snacks, complementary treats and fully stocked kitchen ware of the property. It is a short drive to Okoboji without the noise and traffic of it all. We highly recommend the hosts and this property and will definitrly stay here again.

This was a fishing getaway with my elderly parents. It was nice to have them on one level. Exactly as described. It had everything needed to cook all of our meals. Very clean inside and outside. Nice quiet neighborhood and small community. Enjoyed the bean bags and pac man brought back some good memories. Check in was effortless. Would stay here again if in the area.

Wanted to spend my last week of a long job outta town somewhere other than a hotel. 2.5 months of the same room got stagnet and motivation draining. Found this lovely abode just outside of boji for a few bucks more per night.. an it had me wondering why i hadnt switched up my accommodations sooner than my last week on the job. The outdoor space took the cake, and everything was very clean inside. Much more "at home" than a hotel.

House was Super clean and lovely. Enjoyed the variety snacks and the coffee selection. Backyard area was nice to eat at. Sadly, it rain so we could not enjoy it the following nights. It’s a little far from the Okoboji lake area, but it was nice to get out of the hustle bustle. Would stay there again.

This comfy, clean and cozy property was the perfect place to land after busy days at the nearby Okoboji resort area! There were many perks- 3 bedrooms with queen size beds, 2 full baths, a game room with an arcade Pac Man game, great backyard and more!

Excellent place to stay. Tyson and Ellen are very accommodating and courteous. They ensure there are all the basic amenities and it definitely makes the place a go-to for future stays in the area. Everyone in our group agreed that we will use this place again.
