Anne of Green Gables Getaway

A beautiful home in a great location within walking distance of Langley. Really great kitchen, dining, and conversation spaces for our family reunion of 14. A few things came up. The chain on one of the toilet handles broke early in the week. Despite repeated promises from Vacasa that “the local team has been contacted and will reach out,” nothing happened and we were effectively down one bathroom for the full trip. Also, there were signs on the bunk beds saying, “Do not use the upper bunks” which we had been counting on for the younger cousins. Do not book if you plan to use all the beds in the bunk room. Minor inconveniences overall. We made it work but it did not meet up to our other VRBO experiences. Whidbey is a magical place, though. We would definitely come back to the island.

Beautiful home with some cleaning issues

The home and property were beautiful, we saw orca whales from the yard. The house is also very nice and well equipped. Unfortunately it was not as clean as we would have expected, the biggest issue was finding urine in a chest upstairs. We messaged the property manager about this and they did fix it quickly. Some of the rugs also smelled like urine and did not seem clean.

Ideal Gathering Place!

We chose Marty's Place for our annual sisters & cousins getaway, and it fit the bill perfectly. Plenty of rooms and beds and bathrooms--and nooks for puzzling and reading and chatting. The kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped, allowing us to cook every meal for ourselves, and the space even allowed for our impromptu dance party. While we didn't take full advantage of the outdoor space, it was lovely to look at, and the water views from both floors were outstanding. We'll be back!

Perfect Girl's Trip

Perfect girls trip. Four of us stayed at Marty’s House and loved every minute. The house is very welcoming with a wrap-around porch where we gathered every night for a glass of wine while watching the sunset. It has a huge kitchen with everything you would need or want and large, well-appointed bedrooms. The beds and linens were very comfortable and we loved all the quilts. The house and property is well maintained and very clean. Downtown Langley is a quaint little town with great restaurants, wine tasting rooms and quality shops that are not “Touristy” souvenir stores. It was a great stay and if we come back, Marty’s House will be on the top of our list.

Great place to relax even with a big family!

Beautiful Property for Large Groups

Amazing property and a beautiful kitchen, with plenty of bedding arrangements. Many of the couches were pullouts which allowed people to sleep by themselves rather than share a bed. Would absolutely stay here again!

Amazing stay at Marty's Place!

Marty's Place was the perfect venue for our group of 12 women to spend a beautiful weekend. The grounds and view were beautiful, the kitchen was so well-stocked, the location was convenient-- all in all, it's the ideal space for a large group to stay!

Annual Family Cabin Weekend

This is our 3rd annual family cabin weekend. The family voted this the best thing yet. The property was amazing and easily accommodated the 11 of us. Some of the kids are real foodies and the kitchen was very well equipped. The grounds and view are amazing. There were good places for those who had to work to hide away. Will definitely consider again.

Spectacular for women's retreat

Beautiful house, roomy, mesmerizing view, fantastic well stocked kitchen for retreat with ten 65+ women, clean, affordable, nice deck, lovely fire pit, dry firewood, outdoor grill, the works. Lots of bedrooms, but disappointingly dreadful mattresses on bunk beds and pullout sofa beds. Could have used luggage racks for suitcases and separate cans labeled for garbage, recycling and compost in kitchen. Nice bathrooms and lots of them. Good quality and abundant towels, linens, pillows and comforters. Great kitchen and dining area for cooking for and feeding lots of people. Private, generally quiet, lots of birdsong and the most beautiful view you could ever want. Delightful, highly recommended.

Nana's 80 Birthday Celebration

14 of spent the weekend at Marty's place. We enjoyed the large, well appointed house sitting on a bluff overlooking Saratoga Passage. The beds were very comfortable and the house heated perfectly so all were warm. It is a wonderful place and one that is perfect for special family celebrations. Also, thank you for allowing our dog to be with us. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire pit while viewing the water looking for whales.

Mom's 90th!

This was the absolute perfect home for our family to gather to celebrate our precious Mother! Everyone had their own space to sleep, the view was pristine gorgeous, and close to the ferry and local beach access. Our kids had a great time flying kites in the large yard, a cozy fire pit and exploring the acreage. There were a couple things we needed to notify the owner about, and the response was immediate. We really treasure the memories made and hope to return.

Beautiful, Quiet, Breathtaking View, Great for Families

We absolutely loved our stay at Marty’s Place!! The home was incredibly charming and clean and we immediately felt at home. Our kids liked playing outside and we all found spots around the house to read. It was a great spot for a multigenerational trip! We will definitely stay there again in the future.

Amazing location for our family trip!

This place was perfect for our large group of 5 adults and 7 kids ages 7 and under. So much to do on the property and surrounding areas. The large kitchen and dining room made life easy with all the kiddos. Would love to stay here again. Also, amazing quick correspondence, thank you again for such a great stay!

Family reunion lodging

We had a fabulous time at Marty’s place. Up to 9 of us stayed at the house which was convenient for our other family reunion activities. The deck on the front of the house was wonderful for meals.

It was so hard to leave! Can't wait to return one day!

Marty's Place lived up to and exceeded our expectations. The setting is beautiful, the kitchen has more than everything you need, and there was plenty of space for our group of 11-13 (depending on the day) to enjoy themselves. The house is comfortable and welcoming. We had wonderful weather allowing us to enjoy the porch and firepit at night. It's easy to walk into town. Eagles, deer, bunnies, etc. Great views. What more can you ask for in a vacation experience?!? Every single person in our group wants to return to Marty's Place. That says it all.

An easy get away.

Stayed a few nights at Marty's place with my immediate and extended family. With five bedrooms there was more then enough space and the kitchen is huge. The house is an old charming prairie style home on beautiful property with an amazing view. Only a couple of minutes from Langley, it offers a few good food options and shops to check out. We however where not able to get a table at the Fish House which was disappointing (get there early).

Beautiful historic home with view

Charming home with plentiful windows & beautiful hardwood floors. Kitchen is large & comfortable to cook & eat together. Langley is a small & quiet town. Thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood. Thanks for sharing this lovely home with our family!

Perfect Family Retreat

Marty’s Place was perfect for our family of 6 adults, 1 pre-schooler, 2 babies and 2 dogs. Although we went to Double Bluff Beach and toured Langley and Ciup ills, there was plenty to do “at home”, including celebrating Grandma’s birthday with s’mores at the fire pit. Thank you!!!
