The property is conveniently located to the South Kensington museums and Imperial College London. The Gloucester Road Underground Station is very convenient. These are all positives.
A couple of areas of disappointment with the hotel related to the air conditioning and the check-in process. Despite notifying the property of problems with the air conditioning in our room, it was never fully resolved. The room temperature exceeded 27 degrees Celsius even though the outside air temperature was near 16. The windows do not open. The air would run for a few minutes, never get to the desired room temperature, and then would shut off. We were never able to overcome this pattern, even after maintenance supposedly checked the thermostat.
With respect to check-in, the check-in time is 3 p.m. and not a minute before. For those of us that arrive on red-eye flights, not being able to get into a room an hour or two early is a bit frustrating. The hotel lobby was full of groups of very tired people waiting to get into rooms. At 2:55 p.m., we were told the rooms were not ready and then magically at 3 p.m., they were all ready. I've stayed in many hotels across London and never had a problem getting into a room an hour or two early. For those of us traveling into London on red-eye flights, this is important. I am unlikely to book this hotel again for this reason alone.
