The hotel was overall clean and functional: no mold, everything worked properly. Housekeeping was reliable – although the cleaner spoke neither English nor German, she understood our request (only remove trash and provide fresh towels).
Some aspects felt unprofessional. At check-in the room number was announced loudly together with directions, which compromised discretion. During cleaning, room doors were left wide open. Also, only 1 physical key per room was provided, with the room number and Wi-Fi details printed on the tag – convenient, but not very secure.
On the positive side, reception was staffed 24/7, always friendly, and we could leave the key there during the day without issues. Luggage storage was possible in a locked room accessed via transponder from reception – not perfect, but reasonably safe. Amenities were basic (three small soaps and four shampoo sachets for two people over four nights). The bed had a spring mattress and one large blanket; our room faced the back, which was quiet, while front-facing rooms are likely noisy. Blackout curtains worked very well, but walls and doors were thin and noise from the corridor carried easily. A huge modern TV and excellent shower pressure (1st floor) rounded things off.
Overall, the property has certainly seen better days, but for under €100 per night, booked last minute and mainly for sleeping, it was absolutely fine – and in that context, recommendable.
