Londonaufenthalt zum Jahreswechsel
Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig eingerichtet und sauber. Das Badezimmer ist renovierungsbedürftig. Wir nutzten das Hotel im Wesentlichen zum Übernachten. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und immer ansprechbar. Der Innenpool ist relativ klein und zur Sauna gehört leider kein Ruhebereich. Insgesamt ist das Hotel durchaus zu empfehlen, wenn man London erkunden will.

Nothing fancy, but decent
The Thistle is OK but nothing special. It's conveniently located in the Old Street/Barbican area. The canal is not far for those who like to go for a run.

Das Badezimmer sah furchtbar aus. Man hatte Angst, dort zu duschen... Dann haben wir aus dem Fenster rausgeguckt und haben festgestellt, dass das Fenster paar Monate/Jahre gar nicht geputzt wurde... Also, das Fazit ist die Sauberkeit muss auf jeden Fall verbessert werden...

Hotel genügend - Preis-Leistung nicht OK
Freundlicher Empfang, schneller Service, die Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig ( im Lift 3 Tage lang Pommes auf dem Boden), die Zimmer klein und abgewohnt - eine Renovation wäre fällig, der Tresor ausser Betrieb, WLAN gut, alles in allem Ok, jedoch zu einem stattlichen Preis - Einzelzimmer rund 150.-£ pro Tag, inkl. Frühstück! Haben Taxi zum Flughafen via Reception bestellt - Info ca. 60.- - 70.-£ Kosten, mussten am Flughafen jedoch 136.-£ - gut das Doppelte bezahlen! Finde ich Betrug, daher gesamturteil - UNBEFRIEDIGEND!

Ich war sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Habe es ausgewählt, weil ich gerne schwimme und es einen Pool, einen Whirlpool und Saunas im Keller hat. Das Personal war durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gerne wieder!

OK but not great
I usually choose this hotel because it's very convenient for me but I probably wouldn't recommend it. It's a bit outdated and looks a bit old. I haven't used the pool/gym so I can't comment on that. The staff is friendly enough though.

The Staff was very nice and the rooms where clean. The location is great. The "leisure area" is horrible. The wood in the sauna is desolving. There where plastic cups and wet tissues on the ground everywhere.

Hotel is a typical hotel in London - small rooms, British bash room and not very quite. My most important complaint is about the hotel's staff: I checked out earlier and ask for a refund. They told me it was marked in the system and I should call hotels.com to get the refund. Then hotels.com told me that the hotel claims I had stayed the whole time ...

Renovierungsbedürftiges Hotel
Die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und von aussen macht das Hotel einen recht guten Eindruck. Leider sind die Zimmer sehr renovierungsbedürftig mit schrecklichen Teppichen (Flip Flops empfohlen), für London jedoch einigermassen preiswert. Betten sind sauber, Flur etc. dreckig, und in den Pool geht man auch nicht freiwillig. Fazit: bedingt zu empfehlen.

die Bilder waren besser als der Istzustand! Zimmer u. Bad sind alt nicht mit Bildern vergleichbar. Frühstücksraum viel zu klein für die Masse an Gästen! Das Personal hat sich bemüht konnte aber den Problemen des Hotels nicht Herr werden - werde dort nicht wieder hingehen, kann das Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen!!

Easy to explore London from Barbican Thistle
Every year I stay a couple of nights at Barbican Thistle and it's good value for money for such a big hotel in centre of London. Location is excellent and in walking distance to tube stations Old Street as well as Barbican.

Sehr schönes Hotel
Die Zimmer wahren schlicht, aber für unseren Kurztrip (3 Tage) nach London völlig ausreichend eingerichtet.Das Frühstücksbufet war sehr gut u. für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Personal stets hilfsbereit und freundlich. Alles in allen waren wir auf jedenfall zu Frieden ;-)

The part of the hotel I was in was quite old. I had great difficulties opening the windows and it was hot as there was no AC. I rang the reception 4 times on different occasions and got not answer. The restaurant charged me twice for a meal and would not have noticed it if I would not have pointed it out. The swimming pool was great.

Closed hotel
The hotel was closed. We had not been told. There were mice running around the reception! We were moved hotel and where we went was lovely but the main reason we booked this hotel was for the swimming pool for our children and the hotel we moved to didn’t have one.
