Sehr schöner Urlaub

Well below my expectations
Spent 10 days at Sonesta and would not return or recommend it anyone. Location is great, you can watch the planes landing , but that's the only positive. With only a few exceptions, staff is rude and has the "I don't care" mentality. Pre-arrival communication with front impossible, 4th mail got finally replied, very unfriendly & negative. Asking for tours at the tour desk: "here is the agency's name, you can google them" (quote!) Asking for a cab: "pick one in front of the hotel" etc. Gold status should come with 3 extras: a) room upgrade if available - allegedly it was not available, although the hotel was at ca.50% occupancy. Even worse, my “ocean view room” was overlooking a huge dirty green roof, obstructing most of the view; b) a bottle of wine - they have "never heard of this, you should enjoy the house wine" (quote!) which they offer free in the all-inclusive package and c) late check-out, if available - again, allegedly it was not possible, however no staff has entered my room in the next 3.5 hours (!) after my checkout. At the pool you can enjoy at least 2-3 different music from guests' ghetto blaster (on top of the music from the hotel’s loudspeakers), staff doesn't care, not even after complaints from guests. Food was mediocre or even worse, basic cafeteria food, not the quality you would expect. No fantasy in the menu, poor preparation, service extremely slow, focussing on some sort of guests (no details, not to be a racist...) All in all,not worth the money

The property great! We stayed on the adult side with the swim out and everything was top notch. The only downside was the food. The food was 5/10 at best. However, there are great restaurants near the area some within walking distance. Special shout out to Serth, JoJo, and of course Smiley!! Thanks for the awesome stay!

I would not rate this as a 5 star facility. It was very nice, but had I paid the in season price, it would not have been worth it. The meals at Azul were good. We did not care for the buffet. As far as staff, like anywhere you stay, most were very friendly but not all. The proximity to Mullet Bat Beach was nice. A 2 minute cab ride or 10 minute walk was definitely worth it. All things considered, we would stay here again.

The hotel was breathtaking. The swim out room was marvelous. They did have an issue with the hot water boiler so we had cold water for a day and a half. Otherwise the staff was friendly and helpful.

Property has construction in all halls, loud and dirty all day 8a-6p working. Employees had physical altercation 4/23 @10am in hallway and management did not handle situation. Maid and food service were physically fighting. The cold water pump broke and scald during shower due to the construction. The AC and all power is off from 2am-6 from the construction also. My husband got sick from the Tuna tartare being improperly handled. I wish I could give this resort a better review as it was our honeymoon and we were so Excited to stay here. Management was notified but offered only an apology and no compensation or rectification of these issues. Word to the wise, spend your vacation and money elsewhere; stay at Divi, friendly staff, better area,

We had an amazing stay at Sonesta Ocean Resort! Beautiful resort with amazing views and staff! The food was sooo good too and I usually am not fond of all inclusive food. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Diane & Frank! They became like family during our stay and deserve ALL of the accolades! Only suggestion: BRING CASH! The ATM at the resort casino was out of order the entire time and there’s no other close one within walking distance. We had to be driven to one. You’re gonna need cash for tips and taxis (they only take cash). Otherwise, kudos to sonesta! We’ll be back :)

It is a beautiful resort located on a cliff. The beach was very small. It was shared with another resort and a public beach. There was a larger beautiful beach within a 15 minute walk. It was unique in that it was right next to the airport, so a little noisy and yet amazing to see the planes so close. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. We were happy we were in the Adult only area because we had more pools, restaurant choices and not as crowded. I enjoyed two massages at their spa. The spa was wonderful, clean and a lot of different services. There was a small shopping area right next door. It is a beautiful island. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We are use to the big name resorts so we were a bit worried that it would not meet our expectations but we had fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they are such nice people. The staff service was defiantly very good. The room was acceptable. The room can defiantly use some updates. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We had a swim out room which we used more than we thought. The all inclusive was worth it for us. The drink selection at the bar is decent but if you ask for better bottle they might have it. They had the good stuff under the cabinet. The restaurant selection was good. Azul restaurant was our favorite. Food room service was better that we thought. You can also order room service from the restaurants that are available which we enjoyed some nights. Its a bit on the quiet side which we are not used to, but we did appreciate. Because its not so crowded the service was better and faster than you would receive at a large resorts. So in conclusion we had fun and enjoyed our time at the hotel. Its unique and have to enjoy it for what it is.

As far as all inclusive’s go the property is beautiful and well maintained. Good location , however this was a daily sewer odor walking down the way to the hotel The food was good for breakfast , the hamburgers were terrible and we ate dinner out most evenings ! Azul was by far the best restaurant and location. Would consider going back again but not in a rush
