We did have a great stay. The place is in a great location and we did enjoy the rustic feel of the place. It was also nice to unwind with family in friends. The lake provided great swimming and catch and release fishing. The main floor of the cottage has a lot of windows which is awesome, however with the hot sun on them all day, the main floor got quite warm. We ate our meals downstairs.
When we arrived, we had to spend a couple of hours cleaning. The floors and counters were dirty from the previous visitors. We swept and vacuumed the floors and used cleaning wipes to clean the counters. We also wiped out the dresser drawers as there was debris left in many of the empty ones. There were several potato chips under the coffee table that we had to clean up. I am also very allergic to pets and started sneezing right away upon arrival. I did see in the description that it's pet friendly and accept that, but there was a lot of pet hair on the sofas upstairs as well as the carpet. We had to vacuum all the sofas and carpets.
The coffee make looked like it was broken and someone glued the pot back together. Concern with that is the adhesive probably contains chemicals that could be absorbed into the body so we didn't want to chance it. If nothing else though, the discoloration makes it look dirty. I went out and bought a coffee maker (that I didn't need) so that we didn't have to drive into town daily to pick up Tim Horton's.
The patio screen door upstairs was broken and was off the track when we got there. We fixed it once and it happened again. We did not use it for the rest of the week.
The water cooler leaked water with jugs we bought in town
There was a delay in communication sometimes but all in all emails were returned. Only concern is that with the late replies, we had to pack more then we had to.
These are minor issues that can be corrected for future guests.
It was a good experience. Good price, good location, and good time had by all.
