Okay. So overall the house was fine. It was exactly as described in the photos, clean, big and spacious.
Some random cons were that they only gave us 8 towels for eight persons to use for five nights. After I asked for more towels, the property manager/owner gave us the code to unlock the laundry room so we could wash the towels.
On Christmas eve, something went wrong with the power. It didn't go out completely (lights, fridge, TV worked), but the major items (all ACs, stove/oven, microwave, washer and dryer) were not working. The owner gave us the code to the shed so we could use an extension cord to plug in the oven to cook Christmas dinner.
I ended up climbing on the roof of the house to see if I could fix the breaker box.
The owner also managed to find an electrician to come Christmas Day in the evening, which was appreciated.
The issue resolved itself in about a day and could very well be attributed to Puerto Rico's electrical grid, I'm not sure.
The house also has a ridiculous amount of cameras mounted around the outside, including the backyard, and two that seem to record sound as well.
The whole reason for my low score is because in the description of the house on VRBO, one of the photos shows a map of where the house is located, and in this photo you can WALK to the beach. The house in the photo is no more than 2/3 minutes away from Jobos Beach, with a big arrow saying 'WE ARE HERE' and 'BEACH IS HERE'.
With four kids, we were looking for either a house on the beach, or a house with a pool. This house had neither, but was advertised as being on the beach.
The night before when we got the pin to locate the house, it was nowhere near the beach, and since the other family was already in PR at this point, there wasn't much we could do.
The house ended up being 20-25 minutes away from the beach, and all eight of us were just too disappointed about that. We wouldn't have rented this house had that one photo not tricked us into thinking it was in a different location.
