Cabane confortable au bord de la rivière avec quai, foyer & chiens acceptés
Summary: Unwind at The River’s Edge, a 2-bedroom, 1-bath riverside cabin surrounded by nature. Relax on the deck with river views, enjoy the fire pit, or step onto the private dock (May–Sept) that puts you right on top of the river—an ideal launchpad for the kayak, canoe, and paddleboard. Perfect for a peaceful getaway, this cozy cabin is just minutes from Guerneville, Duncans Mills, local wineries, and the Pacific Coast.
The Space: Escape to River’s Edge, a secluded riverfront sanctuary where the forest meets the water. Tucked away in the Russian River Valley, this retreat offers the perfect mix of classic cabin charm and modern luxury. Whether you’re here to soak in the hot tub under the redwoods, craft pizzas in the outdoor oven, or simply unplug by the fire, this is your private basecamp for relaxation and connection.
As you step inside, you’ll find a home that balances the historic feel of a lodge with the freshness of a modern remodel. The living room is defined by character—planked walls, heavy ceiling beams, and a classic brick fireplace—but it feels playful rather than dark. We’ve curated a "rustic whimsy" aesthetic, filled with interesting art and unique findings that spark conversation and make the space feel personal.
The heart of the home is the sun-drenched kitchen. Skylights flood the room with natural light, illuminating the clean white cabinetry and the central island (a perfect spot to perch with a glass of wine). The dining area is wrapped in glass, offering uninterrupted views of the forest canopy. Mornings here are the best part of the day—brew a fresh cup (Keurig and drip provided) and watch the mist rise off the water through the windows.
We believe vacation is about actually resting. The two bedrooms are painted a soft, cheerful yellow to catch the natural light. They are simple, uncluttered, and designed for comfort, featuring queen-sized beds with proper bedside tables and reading lamps. There is plenty of room to unpack, settle in, and leave your suitcase in the corner.
The bathroom features cool tile floors, a shower, and an extra-long mirror that makes getting ready easy for two people. We provide plenty of freshly laundered towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap, along with a kit of emergency essentials so you have everything you need the moment you arrive.
The outdoor living space is designed for making memories. We’ve turned the deck into a theater for river life, where the architecture literally makes space for nature. The expansive deck was custom-built to accommodate the redwoods, "kissing" the bark and allowing the trees to burst right through the floorboards. You can step out of the hot tub and be within arm's length of a tree that has stood here for generations.
Fire up the brick pizza oven and BBQ for an al fresco dinner, or settle into the outdoor chairs around the fire pit, surrounded by landscaped ferns and native grasses. From the hot tub, you are perched up above the river with a view of the water below. It’s the perfect vantage point to watch summer floaters drifting by in the distance, or simply listen to the wind in the trees. During the warmer months (Memorial Day weekend through Columbus / Indigenous Peoples’ Day weekend), guests can enjoy access to the seasonal dock and kayaks.
Whether you are planning a quiet couples' retreat, a family getaway, or a reunion with friends, we invite you to River’s Edge. We would love to host you and help you create your next great memory.
Guest Access: Guests have full access to the cabin, deck, yard, and riverfront. Watercraft, including a kayak, canoe, and paddleboard, are available for guest use. Outdoor amenities such as the fire pit, BBQ, and pizza oven are all yours to enjoy. Please keep in mind most of these outdoor amenities are only available seasonally (Memorial Day weekend through Columbus / Indigenous Peoples’ Day weekend). Please inquire for specific questions.
The Neighborhood: In the charming hamlet of Monte Rio, nestled between Guerneville and Duncans Mills, this riverside cabin offers peaceful seclusion while still being close to shops, cafes, and wineries. Explore the nearby community beach, take a quick drive to the redwoods, or take a short drive to the Pacific Ocean. This location provides the perfect mix of nature, adventure, and small-town charm.
Getting Around: While you’ll feel miles away from civilization, the cabin is perfectly situated in the heart of the Russian River Valley. A car is highly recommended, and the drive along River Road and the Bohemian Highway is scenic and part of the adventure. Free parking for up to 4 vehicles is available on-site. The cabin provides direct river access for swimming or kayaking, while nearby attractions, scenic drives, beaches, and wineries are all easily reachable by car.
• 0.5-mile walk to the river access • 2-minute drive to Northwood Golf Club. This is a rare chance to play a course designed by Dr. Alister MacKenzie (the architect of Augusta National) set entirely within a Redwood forest. • 10-minute drive to downtown Monte Rio • 10-mile (20-minute) drive to the west takes you to the Pacific Ocean where the river meets the sea at Jenner. • 5–15-minute drive to multiple local Pinot Noir wineries • 15-minute drive to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve • 20-minute drive to Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS)
Other Things to Note: Seasonal River Access: The dock and stairs are seasonal and may be removed from October through May depending on river conditions. However, the views remain year-round. Amenities: Wood-burning stove, outdoor gas grill, pizza oven, hot tub, and fire pit are available for use (firewood is not provided and can be purchased at many of the local stores and gas stations). Watercraft: 1 kayak, 1 canoe, and 1 paddle board are provided (seasonal availability depends on river flow/dock installation). Dog Policy: 2 dogs max without host approval. No aggressive breeds or other types of pets allowed. Please keep dogs off all furniture and beds. Dogs must never be left unattended on the property. Always clean up after your pet, both inside and out. No excessive barking. Keep dogs on leash when outside the private yard. A small pet fee is charged to cover the cost of additional cleaning; however, this fee is not meant to cover any damage caused by guests' dogs.
📌Seasonal River Access: The dock and stairs are removed each year in October and reinstalled in May. Exact dates depend on river levels. Kayaks, canoes and other river equipment are also stored away while the dock is out and are not available for guest use. The river has strong currents and conditions that can change quickly, so please use caution near the water at all times. River use is at your own risk, and children should be supervised. The views remain year-round.
📌Property Maintenance: A service provider may stop by during your stay to care for the outside of the property, such as the hot tub or landscaping. They’ll stay outside and won’t enter the home. See your guidebook for service days and times. We always do our best to let you know ahead of time.
📌To ensure a seamless check-in, all guests must complete a quick pre-check-in verification through our secure guest portal; a link will be sent after your booking is confirmed.

The rental was very comfortable and pretty well appointed. Comfortable for 2 couple or a couple and 2-3 children. Seating for eating is great. We did not use the outdoor amenities except the grill as we were out and about!

Was very clean and well appointed house where the redwoods meet the river in the awesome little neighborhood of Villa Grande. There is a semi private beach in the neighborhood called Patterson Point we enjoyed along with the trails in Sonoma Coast park. Recommend checking out Monte Rio Redwoods Trailhead a few minutes down the road. Overall an amazing, relaxing stay in a quiet part of the Russian River - we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.

This property is super convenient and easy to find. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed cooking in the new kitchen, the BBQ, the wood-fired pizza oven and the hot tub. It’s a shady spot, so if you want a lot of sun— go to the dock in the morning or head over to the beach nearby. Walking the dogs in the neighborhood was delightful, as we were surrounded by redwoods. The private beach was easy to walk to and a great place to swim, see river otters, and play sports. Don’t forget water shoes for the river!
