Review: Major Heating, Electrical, and Hot Water IssuesWe stayed at this home over MLK weekend and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience due to significant and unresolved maintenance issues that made nearly half the house unusable and unsafe.Upon arrival, the host messaged us instructing us not to touch the thermostats but failed to disclose that the mini-split heating units in the south wing playroom and two adjoining bedrooms were not working at all. Space heaters were provided, but when used, they repeatedly short-circuited the electrical panel, rendering them useless. As a result, we could not use the two bedrooms or the playroom (pool table, extra TV, etc.) that were intended for the kids all weekend.We contacted the host, and while a handyman was sent, he was unable to fix the heating or electrical issues. We then discovered there was also no hot water in the south wing, forcing everyone to shower in the north wing. Again, this issue was not resolved.On the final night, the heat on the second floor of the south wing completely failed, and the temperature dropped to 54 degrees. My son woke up with a fever after sleeping in a freezing room.When we requested compensation for these serious issues, the owner refused. Due to the unresolved electrical, heating, and hot water problems-and the lack of accountability—we would never stay here again.
