The location was excellent and the main reason I chose this property. The room met expectations, though I could still hear television noise from another room even in the low season. The building’s layout was unusual but not problematic, though luggage must be carried up a steep staircase.
The front desk requires serious improvement. At check-in, staff only confirmed my booking, gave minimal instructions, and provided my room number and password. There were no words of welcome, no explanation of facilities or the area, and no offer of assistance. The process felt purely procedural, with no sense of hospitality.
Parking guidance created further issues. I was told unloading from the rear lot was convenient and confirmed I could enter from there, but it was not possible. After repeated calls, staff finally said I had to return to the front to finish check-in. This wasted time and could have been resolved in minutes. Even when I voiced frustration, staff insisted their explanation was correct, without acknowledgment.
When I asked for a manager, the staff disappeared without explanation and later assisted another guest. Eventually, I spoke to a representative by phone and completed check-in about 45 minutes after first arriving. At no point was there an apology or gratitude. If the front desk only processes paperwork without warmth, a machine could do so more efficiently while still offering courtesy.
