Immaculate apartment, fully-equipped kitchen, short stroll to the historic center of Gruissan, easy parking, and direct view of the lake. My bird watching husband even spotted some special birds from the comfort of the loggia-like balcony—a delightful surprise! The caretaker was super responsive, as were the very congenial and ultra-helpful owners who acted instantly to rectify the glitch with the internet. Though unusual winds on some days prevented us from fully enjoying all that Gruissan has to offer outdoors, there are some terrific indoor options—the spiffy aquatic center with an heated pool and steam sauna with twinkling lights, and Les Halles market in nearby Narbonne. Also there are many enticing wineries such as Château Ricardelle, where we enjoyed a delicious and informative tasting with the engaging owner, Bruno Pellegrini. Of course, we left with a few bottles.
