This is a very nice place to stay. Near the beach but an oasis of calm in the hotel. All the staff are very welcoming and helpful. I liked the pool for my water yoga and there was always some shade and sunshine so you could be comfortable.

Everything is positive. The owner will talk to everyone if possible on a daily basis to make sure you are comfortable. Anything you might need he will take care of it. All his team wants to make sure you are well taken care. Gomez Place is work of art.

Nice attentive people but Holy crap the mosquitos.. Are off the scale.. 10 of them flying like vultures right outside the door for when I came out.. I had to open the door at crack and Napalm them before venturing out.. The only thing that spoiled this place

Good price, but it's an outdated place.
Room was dark and dingey. The whole place is run down and needs work. I stayed for only twenty minutes, then headed to another hotel instead. It's possible that the place looks better in daylight. But to me it was pretty depressing.

I will want to come back here again and again !
A wonderful experience, starting with a warm welcome. Then i saw my fabulous room, which was pristine, with a superb shower room. Very spacious accommodation, lush green garden. Minutes from beach, shops and restaurants. What really made my stay amazing was Mr Gomez himself. He has the gift making each guest feel special and well attended to, resulting in service one cannot fault. My first long haul trip since the pandemic began, an unforgettable experience.

If this is your type of resort then the friendliness and facilities will be just right. A 5 min walk from the beach, this little hideaway is a serene spot a short walk from bars and restaurants.

great place close to beach and bars
Great place close to beach. Staff very attentive and rooms very clean. Went with my girlfriend, though the hotel is predominently gay orientated (male mainly). It’s has a boutique feel about it and is very quiet and relaxing. Recommend for anyone looking for a short stay.

A very spacious clean room with a very nice breakfast. Walking distance to beach and restaurants. It is a small hotel and off the main drag so don’t expect taxi to know where it is, have directions of where to turn off the Main Street.

Another peaceful, relaxing stay at Gomez Place. This year I planned twice as long as my first visit in 2018, but the time went just as quickly. The rooms are comfortable and eclectic and very close to all the hotspots of Negombo. Mr. Gomez, the delightful proprietor, has been offering hospitality for a long time. He knows everyone and everyone knows him on this fabulous island. He can put a great trip together for an island tour ir a weeo getaway to Colombo, at a very reasonable price with some of the nicest guides you will ever experience. I've met some cool, crazy, awesome fellow guests at Gomez Place. I can honestly say I would not want to stay anywhere else in the Negombo area. Stutti! Gomez!!

Gomez Place is Good
I had been to Negombo in February but wanted to return again. July is off season and therefore a good time to visit. Gomez Place is a charming and very friendly hotel, very close to the beach. The hotel has a beautiful pool. The breakfast is large and delicious. The staff is super friendly and speak English well.

Mysigt familjeägt hotell i Negombo nära stranden
Vi trivdes bra på Gomez Place, ett mysigt litet hotell nära stranden. Vi hade ett rum på bottenvåningen med en egen trädgård, badrum med regndusch. Det finns såväl AC som fläkt på rummet. Kylskåp och vattenkokare med te och kaffepulver finns också. Frukost utomhus varje morgon med kaffe/te, frukt från trädgården, rostebröd och olika former av ägg serveras varje morgon - var inte blyg att fråga efter bacon om du önskar detta! Det är ingen buffé utan personalen kommer och tar beställning vid bordet. Mycket trevlig och tillmötesgående personal. Liten men mysig och svalkade pool som ofta är ledig, cirka tio solstolsplatser finns och här finns badlakan till varje solstol. Ni kommer att erbjudas olika resor till olika delar av ön med bil och chaufför, som man betalar för per dag. Ser till att ni vet exakt vad ni vill göra och berätta detta i detalj, så inga missförstånd uppkommer. Hotellet ligger nära stranden, man går över huvudgatan och är där. Dock finns det inte mycket möjlighet till skugga, så ta med parasoll/paraply. Den tiden vi var där, var det höga vågor och hårda underströmmar, kolla detta om ni vill bada i lugn och ro.

Luxe, calme et volupté, comme dirait le poète.
L'hôtel est très bien construit, les chambres et les salles de bain sont extrêmement spacieuses. コロンボ空港からホテルの車で片道15USD約30分。こちらは大人向けホテルなので、子供連れは向かないかもしれません。オーナーのGomezさんやスタッフ皆さん大変親切でホスピタリティに溢れ、アットホームなサービスが素晴らしかったです。朝食はオーダー式で、パン・シリアル、各種卵料理に、フルーツ、そして美味しいセイロンティーが頂けます。部屋も広々で、清潔、寝心地良いベッド、温度調整水圧バッチリなシャワー、ピストル式ウォシュレット完備、無料WIFIサクサクスムーズ。アメニティの品質はイマイチだったので、持参したほうが良いかも。コンパクトはプールがあり、のんびりできます。あと、日当たりが余りよくない部屋もあるので、気になる方は事前にリクエストした方が良いかも。ビーチまで徒歩5分、周辺にはレストランやスーパーなど充実しています。また、シギリヤロックとピンナラワ象孤児院への送迎をそれぞれ2日間、車チャーターをお願いし、合計152USDでした。年末年始に宿泊しましたが、連日満室、翌年分の予約をする常連さんも多いとのことで、早めの予約をおススメします。とても楽しく、大満足、快適に過ごせました。また宿泊したいです。リピ確定です！

I really loved this hotel. It was centrally located and just a 2-3 minutes walk to the beach and shopping areas. The staff was the best, providing assistance with tours, guides, and information about must see and do activities. The room was very clean and so large, and comfortable. The pool, the sitting areas, the balcony... everything about this hotel was terrific.

A Little Oasis in Negombo
I only stayed at Gomez Place for one night, but wish I'd stayed longer. I liked the lovely garden, the peace and quiet, the refreshing pool, basically everything. The room was spacious--the bathroom alone was bigger than some of my entire hotel rooms in Sri Lanka. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast and attentive staff. The location is about a 10 min walk to the beach and some good restaurants. Don't forget to bring some mosquito repellent!

Heaven in the heart of Negombo
Gomez Place Guest House is beautiful and well kept private mansion with tropical gardens, water features, and a relaxing swimming pool with loungers. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast consists of tropical fruit platter and a tasty omelet, toasts and excellent coffee. Great value for 5 stars service!

On y revient sûrement !
Tout était parfait : le service excellent, la gentillesse, le sourire permanent et l'attention du personnel au top. Le petit déjeuner varié et copieux dans le jardin apportait une note supérieure à ce séjour ! La chambre et la salle de bain plus que spacieuses et confortables. La situation de l'établissement dans une ruelle calme et près de l'agitation de la rue principale. A deux pas de la mer et des restaurants... Rien à dire, De plus, les transferts étaient assurés par le chauffeur de Gomez Place ! Impossible de se plaindre... Prochain séjour prévu l'an prochain en 2019 !!!

Ihan kiva hotelli pikaiseen oleskeluun. Paljon tupakoivia miesasiakkaita. Huoneissa ja vuoteessa vanga tupakan haju. Palvelu ok, paitsi johtajaa ei näkynyt vielä aamu yhdeksältäkään kun piti lähteä lemtokentälle, joten maksusta ei saatu kuittia. Uima-altaalla vain muutama lepotuoli ja niissä samat ryypiskelevät ja tupakoivat miehet koko päivän. Huoneestamme suora näkyvyys tuolle uima-altaalle. Ei ollut mukavaa. Kärpäsiä huoneessa, muuten iso mukava huone ja hyvät varusteet. Negombon ranta saastunut ja turismi taantumassa.

Wonderful service from a wonderful team.
This is a small privately owned hotel operated by the owner. Comfortable and clean, large en-suite bathroom with good shower, also large bedroom (room 12) with an in room safe, reasonably priced mini-bar, aircon, ceiling fan, 1st floor balcony overlooking beautiful garden, attentive, polite and personable hotel staff. Tours to temples and Colombo and airport transfers organised with ease through the proprietor, Mr Gomez. A healthy inclusive vegetarian breakfast with freshly squeezed tropical fruit juice, fresh fruits (mango especially nice but need to request), eggs any style, sliced cheese and toasts with butter and jam, Tea or Coffee...all delivered with a friendly smile. I had many refreshing swims in the great little pool at the hotel and sunbeds and swimming towels are provided. On our first day of arrival (5:30am) a complimentary room was made available for us to catch up on a little sleep before breakfast. The hotel is within a very short distance from all the main attractions - Rodeo Bar, Tastees Banana restaurant and bar, Sea Port Restaurant, Lords Restaurant and bar with live music, 4X4 Pub (at Sherryland).... (all the aforementioned are highly rated and personally recommended). The golden beaches of Negombo are idyllic. The vendors on the beach can be quite pesky. The staff really want to help to make your stay a comfortable and pleasant one. Don't hesitate to request their assistance with anything such as special requests, travel arrangements, directions etc

Great hotel, great service, near to the beach
What a great place to spend you vacation, the service , staff and breakfast was soooo great , I ask the the reception for touring 5 days around Sri Lanka, well hey provide me a car and a chauffeur for a reasonable price , and the driver Mr lahiru exiuse for the writing maybe wrong ask Mr Gomez , he was great guide and learn a lot about Sri Lanka , thank you lahiru , thank you Gomez family , will recommend the hotel, thank you Mr Gomez , and hope to be back next year ,what a great service you provide ..

Walking distance from the beach, bars,restaurants
The hotel is nice, the staff also, but not very competent, English sometimes limited. Room is ok, bathroom with a daily smell very disagreeable. The breakfast is very limited, the same every day, even fruit, juice, omelette, Fried egg, soft bread, orange jam every day. Very annoying, lacking yogurt, various breads, oat meal etc. The clients are European and English speaking. We adapt the breakfast .... The beach is dirty for miles, full of miscellaneous waste, poor and beggar, restaurants and bars very nice. But nothing to do, zero activities, heavy traffic or some pollution. Colombo and the worst.
