First, what is good - The ocean view is great. The tenth floor is high enough above the pool that the noise is not annoying. The bathroom appeared clean. The kitchen appeared clean. The air conditioning worked.
Second, what is acceptable - The parking garage is cramped requiring special care to park and avoid cars moving in the opposite direction. (Yes, traffic flows both ways instead of in one direction as in modern parking garages.) There is sufficient hot water. It costs $95 to rent a beach umbrella and two beach chairs for three days from the city of North Myrtle Beach. There was a small number of bowls, plates and tableware available. We had to wash dishes in the sink frequently.
Third, what is bad - The carpeting looks new, but must be very dirty. After walking on in in white socks, the socks had black bottoms. There is mold on the caulking where the bathtub meets the tile floor. The refrigerator side that could be seen had a great deal of rust. The doors of the refrigerator had several large dents. The door between the living room and kitchen had a large fist sized hole in the upper door panel. The bedroom carpet had not been vacuumed as evidenced by finding a large grape stem on the floor. (Large enough that twenty to thirty grapes must have been attached to it) The side of the sink cabinet by the bath tub was completely deteriorated up to one foot above the floor and was rotting at floor level. During week days, there is no place to buy a meal for breakfast or lunch. Only ice cream cones are available. This resort is at least 1/3 mile from the nearest restaurant. There are no dish towels or dish rags or scrubbers. We used a bathroom washcloth as a dish rag/scrubber and a bath hand towel as a dish towel. If we had wanted to cook on the stove, there were insufficient pots and pans.
Fourth, What is unacceptable - The unit was supplied with one small roll of toilet paper. We went to front desk, gave the room number, and asked for more, plus more towels. We were told they would be sent up right away. None ever appeared during the next three days. We bought our own toilet paper at a local grocery store.
Fifth, What is odd - The unit was provided with a packet of dishwasher soap. There is no dishwasher in the unit.
Conclusion - This unit is not worth the $300+ per night that was paid.
