We stay at VRBOs 1-2 times a month for work. This was a vacation trip that we plan every year to spend with family. Each immediate family rents a condo for the week and we get to reunite with one another. I have never experienced such a controlling and overbearing host. I am sure this home is beautiful, however, we never got to experience it. After answering a lot of personal questions and giving an abundance of personal information (such as every guests name, DOB, Occupation, email, phone number, etc.) to the host per his requirement, we then had to set up a pre-check in interview call. During this call we mentioned that it is our norm to host a family dinner one night and ASKED permission to do so, clearly explaining that if it were an issue we would be able to find an alternative to hosting. He expressed concern but stated he would think it over. The next morning we awoke to messages stating that our trip has been cancelled due to “violating house rules” and we would receive a full refund. Thankfully, we did get the refund in a timely manner, as we were required to begin the search for a new condo fitting our family’s needs. However, we did not get a refund for the travel insurance or damages until we called VRBO customer service multiple times and wasted even more time on this home. I would avoid this booking at all cost, unless you have nothing better to do than sit on the phone with customer service or attempt prove that your perfect VRBO rating is accurate.
