My daughter and I enjoyed our week in this well-appointed log cabin. The weather did not cooperate (during our week in mid-August); the cabin has no A/C and was too hot for sleeping when it was 90 degrees in daytime. It takes a long time for those logs to release heat. We enjoyed hiking in the area (Bald Mt, Coos Canyon, Cascade Falls, Piazza Rock etc.). The cabin overlooks beautiful Mooselookmeguntic Lake. If you love kayaking, canoeing, sailing, or power boating (or fishing), this is the place for you. While not the best time of year for wildlife sightings, we saw moose feeding in a lake, an ermine, and heard many loons.
I strongly recommend this property in fall. Sep/Oct should be perfect. The cabin has a propane gas fireplace and lovely living room sitting area and front porch. There are some good restaurants just down the road in Rangeley.
