Poor customer service

First meal there, we went to use the microwave and it wasn’t working. Contacted management and the guys who came out looked at it for 45 seconds and said it was bad. Communication from office said they ordered a part and that the fine print says they are protected against any appliance failure. In the 45 seconds they were looking at it there is no way they figured out what was bad. Simply asked for a small countertop but never got any help. Very unfortunate. Also paid for pool heat, but it was 72 degrees and unswimmable the first four days we were there. Kept asking what’s up, and they blamed cooler weather. Finally our second to last full day there we wake up and it’s 87 degrees and steaming. Got 2 days of pool heat and paid for 6 days. Spiderwebs all over dining room light and ants in shower. Would not recommend renting from this property company due to poor customer service.

Amazing!

My family and I really enjoyed the property. It was exactly like the pictures. Very clean and neat. The neighborhood was quiet and easy to get to. We paid for the pool to be heated and it was warm every day. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. The home came with a box fan in each room in case the room became hot. We didn’t need them but they were there just in case. The beds were so comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms. The only problem we had was the breaker kept tripping for the microwave. We couldn’t figure out why that was happening so we just turned the breaker off to the microwave to be on the safe side. The property managers sent several messages to us before we arrived until we left, making sure that everything was going okay. We will definitely rent this home again. We enjoyed our vacation!

Good house but other things not so good

I have rented many houses in the Orlando area and was very happy with this one. I was a bit less enthusiastic about the resort, mainly because their own rules weren’t enforced. Many cars were parked across the sidewalks, blocking access for walkers, and the rules about outside noise late at night were generally ignored. Another downside was the regular queuing to access the resort: local police even turned up one day because of the long queue of cars blocking the road waiting to get through the gates. Although the house itself was good, I would suggest one item of maintenance. The roof design meant that a lot of rainwater (and there can be a lot of that in Florida) was directed to the front porch creating a wall of water outside the front door making it difficult to get to or from the car without getting soaked. A gutter of some sort might help. This all sounds a bit negative but, again, the house itself was great.

The resort neighborhood was quiet and friendly. There is a convenience store with fuel pumps located about half a mile (<1 km) outside the resort and grocery/dining options another two miles (~3 km) beyond that. The traffic getting into the resort was often backed up; just be patient.

Great neighborhood, great communication!

Solterra is a great neighborhood, you don’t hear the traffic of busy streets like you do in other vacation communities. The home was clean and the pictures were accurate. The beds were comfortable and not cheap like you get in other vacation rental homes. The check in process was A+.

Gorgeous Home

This was the absolute perfect place my family and I have ever stayed in. It was just what we expected. Only a couple issues going in and that was the door code to home was not accurate. Then my husband and myself master bedroom sink was clogged in the bathroom, but it was a sink where the toilet was located so we didn't let that be a big problem to us. Upstairs the projector to the big screen had a bulb out so it wasn't working up to full quality, but it was usable and lastly the blinds to the glass doors entering the pool area was steady falling off. I was worried cause we didn't want to be charged for those blinds falling off like that. They were doing that the moment we arrived. One thing I will say is that the property owners were really nice and understanding and did not charge us for those issues cause we arrived with the issues already happening. So overall, It was an excellent stay and I would never hesitate to stay again if im back in the area.

BEDBUGS, roaches, unclean pool and more

Our first night we arrived we could not get in the house because the code was not working. It took about 20 minutes to finally get someone on the phone who could help us get in. My son woke up the first night complaining of itching. We thought maybe he had hives (his entire chest, arms and back were swollen and red) from anxiety of the trip, but the itching and redness did not go away and got worse (even with several doses of allergy medication) the second night. At 3 am I checked his room... there were BED BUGS! Their pest control people showed up, told us to leave the room unused the remainder of our trip and they would treat it once we left... They checked the other bedrooms and didn't see anything visually so they said it was unnecessary to move us to a new property. My son was unable to attend the theme parks with us (that we purchased prior to arrival) for a portion of our stay because he was so itchy, uncomfortable and in pain. We are having to sanitize everything before we can even take it back into our home and having to replace the luggage my son used in that room. My son is still not healed, we have been home almost a week. We requested the pool be cleaned because there was a chicken bone in the pool when we arrived and the water was really murky, they claimed they would send someone to clean it sometime during our stay. The chicken bone was still there when we left. I also had to wait around for some of the resort people to show up which made me late attending our family events as well. There were only six towels and two washcloths throughout the entire house when we first arrived. They did not bring us more until the second day. We found roaches in the kitchen, including inside the dishwasher. One of the beds was broken (the leg was completely off of the bed), they said this would be fixed after we left. The house was pretty for the most part, but I definitely would not stay there again as the owners do not sufficiently care about their property or the people that stay there.

Great place and beautiful. We thought we would suggest that it would be helpful to have more than one dish towel and one pot holder. A very minimal detail, but with a larger group in the kitchen, it would be helpful for the next group. And maybe an extra blanket for each bed. We loved it and had a great time. Really nice house. Almost everything you need (the kitchen is a bit bare bones. Really needed a tea towel, pan scrubber and a oven glove. Only two dishwasher tablets supplied and no dish soap. Knifes desperately need sharpening.). Oddles of towels :-). Pool heat overall good - but sometimes a little cold. Could have done to have been pumping in hot water more often (which I guess means the thermostat needs to be raised a little given that it’s all automatic these days). Owners very responsive to messages, but the management company hard to get a response from outside of office hours.
