I visited the villa last year for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so I booked it twice this year for 2 weeks in August and 1 week in October.
Since last year there have been some brilliant improvements, the pool has been relined, the pool and patio area has been laid with tiles that do no hold the heat, so you can walk on it bare footed even in the middle of August. The front has been levelled and lighting installed, ideal for sitting out in the afternoon as it is in the shade till around 5pm. Inside both the bathrooms have been updated to a high standard, this being in character with the whole villa, again the villa was immaculate inside and out.
The location of Cool Breeze Villa is at the end of a quiet Cul-de-sac and is adjacent to an open space on one side and a friendly neighbour on the other, with no excessive vehicle noise, as the main estate road is 50-100mts away with the main village road 3-400mts away.
A hire car is not essential as there is a good bus service into Larnaca that goes passed the beach, however should you wish to explore the island and get out and about more, visiting, Protaras, Ayia Napa, the water park, Trudos, Limmasol, the list is endless, and then a hire car is a must. The entrance to the motorway is just at the top of the village giving easy access to the places mentioned.
However, if you just want a quiet relaxing holiday, then everything you need is within 5-10 minutes walking distance from the villa. The village has everything you might need from a 24 hour bakery, which is naughty but a must, 2 supermarkets (the furthest one is the cheapest, even cheaper than the Metro in Larnaca for lots of things), a pharmacy, DVD rental shop, takeaways, restaurants (the 'Only' restaurant does a brilliant all day 'English' breakfast), taverna’s, banks with ATM, beauty therapy, a butchers, (excellent meat for the 'barby' and more than very reasonable.)
The army base at Dhekalia is a must for the best fish and chips you will ever taste.
For the energetic there is a new fitness centre which cost 10 euro’s for a week’s subscription. For the non energetic the ‘Sports Bar' on the main road, shows all major games.
Cool Breeze Villa provides an excellent base for your holiday, whether you wish to explore the island, or have a private lazy, quiet life which would give you little reason to leave the villa especially with the pool being so inviting.
