I booked 6 nights here to spend Spring Break with my wife, 2 daughters, and our 8 year old dog. We were excited about this road trip, and looked forward to skiing, and playing in the snow with our dog.
We arrived at the property and it was more or less as described. 1 misleading thing - plan on $18/person/day to use the pool/hot tub. We thought this was included.
We had a good trip overall…until after we got home, that is.
12 days later - not 1 or 2 days - 12 days later, I got a message from the owners that they found damage and that I caused it. They said they have photos, and that I would be charged an extra $250. It sounded pretty serious - like someone trashed the place - one of the tv’s was hanging out of the wall, damage to the front door, etc.
I responded that there is some kind of mistake, that we didn’t cause any damage. We took care of the property like it was our own home.
They responded that it was definitely me. They said things like “You caused damage, and “I assure you it was not anyone else.” They never listened to what I had to say, or explained why it took them 12 days to notify me about it. Pictures of damage is not proof that I did it. Anything could have happened after we left and before they contacted me.
Shortly after, $250 was charged to my bank card.
Unless you like being accused of crimes you didn’t commit and charged extra money, I would recommend staying as far away as possible from Rocky Mountain Realty & Rentals properties. Avoid!
