Before I begin, its worth noting that we never actually had the opportunity to stay at this property. So, I cannot speak to the cleanliness, location/neighborhood etc. However, the reason for this review is due to the circumstances leading up to our stay and how ungraciously our payment was accepted despite the extreme circumstances preventing our arrival. This property was booked on October 6th @ 3:23 pm. We are residents of Ft. Myers, FL and with Hurricane Milton bearing down on the Gulf Coast of Florida, needed to evacuate. Hence the reservation. The reservation was then cancelled on October 7th @ 3:54 pm. Amidst all of the evacuation orders, fuel shortages and absolute gridlock along I-75 northbound - we were physically unable to travel to the property. Despite ongoing communication with the host regarding this, the terms of the booking contract were continually cited and therefore were out the entire cost of this reservation. Not even a partial refund was offered considering the fact that the host had the ability to then immediately re-rent the property. In summary, I'm sure the property is suitable, but it couldn't be any more evident that this particular host is only interested in turning a profit - even at another's expense, even without actually providing the product that they are selling. As a husband and father of 3 young children, during a time of great uncertainty/anxiety, this experience with the host leaves a lot to be desired.
