Thanksgiving get-together

We had a fabulous family Thanksgiving vacation at Rocking Horse Acres! The house was clean and well appointed. We loved the living room with the wood burning fireplace and we made a huge Thanksgiving meal in Amy’s well appointed kitchen. Everyone had a most enjoyable stay. Thank you!!

Excellent spot for extended family, in town for wedding

Loved everything about it! Nice property with things to do outside, excellent areas inside and outside to hang out. A great kitchen which we used several times. Super clean and great area to stay which are our top priorities. Also plenty to do in the area, we loved New Hope and Lambertville NJ - great walking jogging trail across the bridge in Lambertville. Thanks again for sharing your lovely spot with our families!

Unique and exquisite

From the moment you leave the road and enter the property you are transformed into a rancher with a beautiful home and amazing amenities -firepit with Adirondack chairs, dartboard, lasso and bull, archery, swings, teeter totter, and frisbee game, outdoor activities abound. The furnishings in the home were curated thematically and are wonderful. The grounds are impeccably kept. You will love the chickens, cows, and horses surrounding the property. There are insufficient superlatives to describe Amy, the host. Response time is almost immediate, and she can answer any questions you ask. What a treasure she is, as is her property. A most memorable experience!

Picture Perfect Celebration for my Parents

Amy's home and farm was absolutely perfect to help us celebrate my parents' 60th anniversary. Amy was immensely helpful and left vases of fresh cut flowers throughout the home. Help helped coordinate setting up some extra sleeping space which was a huge assistance. The property is FANTASTIC. It was ideal for our ages which spanned from 2.5 to 82 years old. I honestly can't stay enough good things. We would rent her place annually to get together with family over and over - it's that great!

Idyllic wedding retreat

Rocking Horse was the perfect spot for our family to gather over a long weekend to enjoy time together in a serene and well-appointed setting for my youngest son's wedding. With grown children spread across the country, this kind of time together is priceless. The spacious log home was well appointed, with a dream kitchen, a spectacular great room with cozy fireplace, super comfy bedrooms, and every detail for a memorable stay. We enjoyed the outdoor amenities, spring flowers, stately trees, backyard water feature, amazing patio and outdoor eating, firepit area, and twinkling string lights that made for magical evenings. The guys loved the axe throwing, archery and roping amenities, and we had fun "pre-hitching" the groom to be :-) Best of all was looking out the windows at the lovely pastures with cute Douglas, the new cow, the sheep, and visiting the very happy and enthusiastic chickens to collect fresh eggs for morning omelets. Amy was a super + host -- so communicative and helpful during booking, check in and throughout the stay. Honestly wished we could have stayed for another week. Highly recommend for family gatherings. Amazing five-star experience.

Fun Farm

The house was perfect for our family - grandparents, parents and kids. The kids loved the bunkbeds and all the games. They were excited to see the chickens, cows, and sheep. If it hadn't been rainy and muddy, we would have loved to spend time around the fire pit and play the outdoor games. Amy was very responsive to my request to use fragrance free products (an atypical request). Thank you!

Lovely house ins pretty location

The house was very nice and clean. The kitchen was well equipped. There were games for the kids and a great outdoor space. Amy was very nice and came by each day so the kids could feed the animals. She was also very helpful with suggesting things to do in the area. There are cute towns nearby and several kid-friendly activities. We have a very nice stay.

Very nice but too expensive

The property is absolutely lovely. Through my own mistake, I accidentally booked for one night when I intended to book for two nights. This created an awkward interaction with the host and a rushed check out when we weren’t ready to check out. Again, this was my own mistake when I did the booking online. However, my issue with the property on the listing is that there is a hidden host fee. For just one night’s stay, we were charged a double rate of the equivalent of 2 nights due to the extra host fee, which is on top of taxes, cleaning fee and the VRBO fee. This seems exorbitant to me. Maybe would be understandable for a big event that required host assistance or longer stay but not under our circumstances.

Farm Escape!

We had a really fun getaway w the kids here. We shared the home with another family w kids and we were both very comfortable. The house is very charming and clean, but also has really nice updated kitchen appliances. One of our guests was a chef and was able to cook up a feast for us while we were there. Amy, the owner, is very nice and even came by to let the kids help feed the chickens. It has big beautiful backyard filled with activities, but unfortunately it rained all weekend so we couldn’t enjoy it as much as we’d like to. We would definitely come back, and I highly recommend if you’re looking for a taste of farm life with all the amenities of a comfortable and clean home.

Birthday Weekend for my Mom

We had an incredible experience at Rocking Horse Acres! The property was exactly as described, very quaint but plenty of room for 8 of us. Lots of fun things to do on the grounds. Everyone from my 8 year old son and my 70 year old mom had a blast! Amy was extremely responsive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Great House!

House was super clean with a great layout for a family of 5. Kids loved the board games and outdoor activities and bunk beds. Amy was kind enough to let them feed the sheep and chickens one morning. Fresh eggs are delicious. The vibe in Bucks County is the best too. Would definitely stay here again.

We lucked out finding Rocking Horse Acres!

Our stay was two fold. Most importantly we hosted a phenomenal rehearsal dinner and this house and farm were absolutely perfect. You can stop the comparing

I wish it was my home. Our family lives allover so its was most important to find a home that 1) comfortably fit 6 adults and two younger children 2) Didn't feel commercial 3) gave us space to be together and/or have personal space. I arrived last, late at night and got goosebumps when I turned into the driveway..small beautiful lights which outlined some of the structures...My sons said, "we couldn't help choosing our rooms because it reminded us of growing up in our house! To say it was "warm and welcoming" just doesn't cover it- it was inviting and somehow felt like Amy knew how important this trip was. There are plenty of more modern things that were a treat (very cool shower!) but the comfy beds, couches etc made me appreciate (so much!) that we hadn't chosen hotels. Nothing felt or looked aged but it didn't have that stiffness Ive encountered at other properties. I felt like Goldilocks. The property is big! Fresh eggs every morning from the hen house! If you are like our family and often get bogged down comparing places...choose this place, put your mind at ease-its special, lacks nothing, feels secluded yet its easy to get anywhere. The bucolic surroundings are eye candy!

Hidden Gem!

We only had one night and were so sad to leave. The home was perfect for our family. Beds were very comfortable, bathroom shower had a really neat design. Kitchen had everything you need! The yard was great to walk around and we loved the chicken coop design, the eggs and the sheep were adorable. So very peaceful and relaxing. Would highly recommend!

Great getaway

We had a great time. The house is located in a great spot. Had lots of outdoor activities. The host Amy was great. She communicated with me about everything,response time was great. We even were able to check in earlier. Fresh chicken eggs every morning. Plus a garden to pick some fresh basil and tomatoes. If were ever looking to return to Bucks County. We will sure to make a reservation to stay here. House was clean kitchen had pretty much what you needed Beds were comfortable. We were 4 couples all in our 60”s enjoyed the house.Thank you Amy and Steve.
