Très bien placé pour un week end

Hotel très bien situé en plein centre pour un prix convenable. Petit déjeuner a l'anglaise ou continental comme on le souhaite. Un tout petit bémole, les clients de la chambre d'en face étaitent bruyants... Egalement les rideaux qui font qu'on se leve a la lumière du jour donc debout a 6h... Mais sinon un séjour très agréable, HOTEL A RECOMMANDER

great family hotel, also close to amenities etc.

We had just got married and my uncle was staying at the hotel .Hospitality was fantastic.We couldnt have asked for more. perfect venue for any occassion. Staff very helpful and lovely.

Stay here for superb hospitality

I had a lovely 2 night stay at the Astor. My room was warm, clean and cosy. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendlier. A big thank you to Joseph and the rest of the staff for your hospitality.

1 night stay for uni.

VEry clean and quiet. Just what I wanted. Although the wifi reception was poor anywhere except the front lobby and lift never works. But great hotel, just what I needed

Not a pleasant experience

The lift was broken for the two days that we were there and our bedroom was on the third floor. As both my wife and I are pensioners this caused us a major problem. Additionally the free WI-FI did not work on the third floor. Furthermore the cooked breakfast was swimming in trays of grease. The bacon was extremely salty. We would not use this hotel again.

Comfortable and homely but elegant also.

A really lovely place to stay and with such nice helpful staff. Very central position.

Pity about the hot water

Slightly old fashioned hotel. Good breakfast, friendly helpful staff. The system had a problem in the morning which meant no hot water. It was probably just one of those things that could happen any where, though. I would certainly stay here again.

The hotel was a bit old fashioned. But the staff made us feel welcome thoughout our stay with them.

The Astor Plymouth

We have stayed here several times before and never had a problem. The only difference this year was that the room seemed rather cold and I asked for a fan heater which was provided, maybe the high gas prices are a problem for hotels too! We would have stayed for the New Year party which we attended last year but unfortunately it had been cancelled due to lack of sales, an sign of the times! We will stay here again when next in Plymouth.

Nice hotel near the seashore with reasonable rates

This was my second time staying at The Astor Hotel when visiting Plymouth. I have stayed at other hotels in the same area earlier, but the quality of the rooms at The Astor Hotel and especially their breakfast is much better than the other similarly priced offerings. The hotel manager, who seems to be always present when needed, is very helpful and polite, a real gentleman. My only problem was, just like on my first visit, that the WiFi signal was too weak in the room I first received and I couldn't have used the Internet connection (included in the room rate) there. However, as the hotel was not booked full this time, they were able to find me another room, where I was able to connect the Internet without having to stay in the lobby. I like staying in this hotel and will probably book a room there also the next time I'm visiting Plymouth, as their prices are reasonable and the location is perfect for me, as my main reason for visiting Plymouth is attending the concerts at Plymouth Pavilions located nearby, and I also like spending time at the seaside park only a block away from the hotel when the weather is good.

Astor Hotel - good location, friendly helpful staf

Used it for Plymouth Uni graduation ceremony on the Hoe - only 5 minutes walk and handy for Barbican restaurants too. Staff were friednly and helpful when we arrived during a monsoon and let us park at the back.

Astor Hotel - Right on the Hoe

We had a very nice stAy at the Astor. It is good value for the money and right next to the Plymouth Promenade, overlooking the harbor. The staff was very helpful and saved our trip when they found our travel documents and quite a bit of cash that we had inadvertently left behind. The owner called us and we returned to pick them up.

On the Hoe

It is obvious that the owner works hard to provide the best service in this hotel. Though the Hotel is old and maybe a little tired, this is expected of one of Plymouths historic buildings. The location is excellent, short walk into town, or a pleasant stroll along the Hoe to the barbican. Would happily stay here again, last time was 27 years ago on our wedding night.

Very happy with our stay!

We were visiting Plymouth to watch a show at the Pavilions and The Astor was a 5-10 minute walk away. Reception was friendly and the room was clean and very comfortable. The beautiful promenade was a handful of meters away. Very happy and would recommend it to anyone.

the astor hotel, plymouth

had a really nice stay in astor hotel, the staff and owner were lovely and very helpfull. the location was perfect, only couple mins walk to the hoe/sea front. was our first time in this hotel as we normally stay with family.. we will deff be using the astor hotel next time we are visiting family

quick break

booked a delux room .to get passed bottom of bed hold your breathe wardrobe door would not stay closed.which made this small task more difficult.waited one hour for one sandwich. main restaurant food. food excellant.

The Astor Hotel

This hotel is in a very good location just around 5 minutes walk away from the seafront, all the nice restaurants and bars. The room I stayed in very very nice, big spacious and clean. The only downside is that the TV is way to small for the room. The staff are all very friendly and well mannered. The only downside I can think of is the parking and that you have to pay £3 per day and there is very limited parking available.

The Astor Hotel in Plymouth

Great location, room was good, staff were friendly and it was easy to get to the Barbican and the City Centre from the Hotel. Bed was a bit uncomfortable was the only issue. We would come again.

good value clean tidy hotel

Excellent location all attractions within easy walking distance, good value and with secure parking for our motorcycle (a great plus point) The hotel was what it was a clean and tidy place to stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. We had no complaints. Will use this hotel again.

Nice Hotel, Nice Location.

Only an overnight stay room only so can't comment on the breakfast or evening meal. Double room we booked was not huge but spacious enough for our needs. It was pleasantly decorated and spotlessly clean. Location is great for the Hoe - less than a hundred yards away. City centre shops are about 10 minutes walk away. Hotel offer overnight street parking for £3.00 -much cheaper than the metre (it covered us from about 1. pm until 10 am the following day). Would happily use this hotel again (assuming price is reasoanable - we had a good deal this time).
