It was our first time in the DR. The hotel is huge and very Green, plants are beautiful. The beach was also beautiful because of the palms. However, the water was not very clear - there has been sea weed all over - of course it is also due to the current hurricane season in the ocean. But Somehow we had the feeling that other hotels cleaned the beaches more. The staff was always friendly. Especially we enjoyed the gym and the big pool. The food was good - everyday several types of fish and seafood such as mussels, shrimp and vieras. The fruit was really tasty - at least 5 types of fruit every day. All overall great price - quality ratio. We liked it there very much.

Minuspunkt: die Kommunikation mit dem Hotel vor der Reise war grauenhaft. Wir wollten die Buchung verlängern, aber das Hotel fühlte sich nicht zuständig, da ich über Expedia gebucht habe. Es war dafür trotzdem die Mithilfe des Hotels nötig, und da irgendwann meine Nachrichten (und die von Expedia direkt ans Hotel) ignoriert wurden, hat es Wochen gedauert, bis die Thematik geklärt war. Expedia hat hier aber echt gut supportet! Abgesehen davon ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt. Das Ambar ist Teil eines großen Resorts mit weiteren Bahia Hotels. Alles ist fußläufig gut erreichbar, oder man nimmt einen der Shuttles. Man hat aber im Ambar eigentlich alles was man braucht. Lediglich manche Einrichtungen (große Showbühne, Karaoke Bar, Disco etc.) sind in anderen Teilen des Resorts. Buffet fanden wir sehr gut. Es gibt zusätzlich noch à la Carte Restaurants, die sind noch besser, müssen aber rechtzeitig reserviert werden (ab 5 Tage vor Checkin per App möglich). Solltet ihr aber auf jeden Fall machen! Getränkequalität könnte besser sein. Im Oktober nicht viele Algen. Liegen im Schatten werden mit Handtüchern reserviert. Ein paar mehr Sonnenschirme wären also schön. Bin kein Animationsfan, aber das Entertainment Team macht echt einen guten Job und am Ende tanzt man dann doch mit ;) Highlight: Beach-Party, Pool Party (mit Schaum) und Silent Disco. Zimmerqualität gut. Hier und da etwas renovierungsbedürftig, aber da habe ich schon deutlich schlimmeres erlebt. Sonnencreme teuer, nehmt genug mit!

Overall we had a great stay. The Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar Adults Only Resort is part of a big resort complex with 5 other hotels. Everything was very well taken care of and clean. The room was very nice and staff was always friendly. The food was also good. Always a variety to choose from. The only downside is that all sundbeds around the pool and even at the beach are reserved at 7 AM already. Not sure why people are doin this. Around 2-3 PM you will be able to find some good spots again.

Super Anlage immer sauber Strand extrem sauber & sehr sehr schön Die Anlage besteht aus mehreren Hotelketten, jedoch hat jedes Hotel einen separaten Bereich. Extrem schön! Durch Corona haben nur 3 Hotels auf. Das Essen im Hotel war für unseren Geschmack nicht zutreffend. Jedoch waren die anderen Hotelgäste zufrieden. Empfehlenswert !

Honestly the best all inclusive I’ve been to. The food everywhere was great compared to other all inclusive hotels we’ve been too. Staff is great, entertainment was on point. Would definitely come back again. We stayed in Ámbar, but you end up having access to all the other Bahia principles there.

Didn’t get an upgrade no vip perks ! Transportation around the resort sucks! Staff rude! Boring environment they try and keep you on the resort like a hostage everyone is counting your pockets ! Telling you one price and someone else says something else they are con artist! I would never do this resort again and i travel this was by far the worst and there were kids in the adults only section! They overcharged me for laundry service that they delayed and stole clothing items and charged me for! They enter the rooms without permission none of the doors lock! It’s horrible ! Food terrible ! So bland no flavor !

Property was beautiful. Food was blah. Chairs are reserved as early as 5 am so if we wanted seats on the beach or pool we have to put towels out at the crack of dawn. Entertainment staff on the property deserve a raise! They were amazing!

It was Clean entertainment was non stop at the pool during the day. Food was very good. Everything was within walking distance. Special thanks up Edwin (King Kong) Abel and the at entertainment crew for always making everyone get up and have a good time. Desiree and Yessmina st the pool were non stop. Making sure, everyone was always taken care of. Made Service and room service was great. The only complaint I would possibly have was the coffee shop. They were not as friendly as everyone else. I’d definitely go back We ate at limbo Italian and Meat all excellent. We went off to the other hotels for hibachi dinner that was great too. We’d go back for sure

The property overall was good. The food was average. Food selection was not great. Some staff unfriendly. Beach was great. Pool is also good. Rooms were great and very clean. The coffee shop was the best thing at the resort. M.E.A.T. is the best restaurant by far. Maiko the Japanese restaurant is terrible.

This resort I at best 3 stars. The food quality is at best mediocre. The nightlife is lacking and the entertainment can use some creativity. The beach is great and the pools are ok . Definitely needs to be upgraded as it has the bones to be a great property.

The property overall is good. As an all inclusive resort, it’s isolated.So, you better enjoy the shows and food. The adults only was boring during the night. Maybe not a good weekend, or probably targeting an older age.

Property is older but seems to be well maintained. Food was the best I’ve had on a resort. We stayed in a swim up room and it was extremely loud early mornings outside of the front door which woke us up everyday we were there. Room had a few small roaches, mattress was very hard, and I had to remind them twice, although it was stated in the reservation, that we were celebrating a birthday in order to get birthday decorations. Staff was nice and was willing to move our room to another building but on the 3rd day of our vacation when a room became available. At that point, It wasn’t worth packing back up and missing the excursion we had planned at the time we would have had to move so we made the best out of it.

The rooms dirty, the house keeping staff did not clean properly i have pictures to prove. Also, there are bugs crawling on the buffet and restaurant tables and Also crawled over my food and had a fly in my drink ! 2 of the outlets in the room didn’t work neither did the patio light.

I rate the location a 3 star out of 5 primarily because the rooms were out of date. When I turned on my television there was no Netflix Hulu paramount applications, in other words the tv was outdated. Another reason for my rating is because of the restaurant experience, the food wasn’t as appetizing as it appeared in pictures. The best two locations were Limbo for there steak and potatoes and in house unique drink along with MEAT which had exquisite choices to choose from. My last reason for rating the hotel a 3 is due to the activities. The best activities the public, customers, tourists, etc enjoyed the most ended very early. Take into consideration the saxophonist he was stupendous amazing an encore and silent disco was the best great decision for incorporating that as an activity BUT make sure it last longer. Dinner is usually scheduled late and when people finish eating they want to go out and have fun for more than one hour.

It didn't feel like a 5 star luxury resort. Food and drinks were not that good. The pool was closing at 6pm. An ice cream place instead of chasing the ice cream guy would have been better. The entertainment was OK. The fire show was great and the pool activities were fun. The live music was nice. I don't think I'll be back. Overall, it is too expensive for what it is.
