We recently stayed at Paradisus Grand Cana for 5 days with our family and were very disappointed with the overall experience. While the property looks nice in photos, it fell far short of expectations in many key areas. The buffet was particularly awful. The area where the cheese, ham, and bread were displayed was constantly swarming with flies, very unhygienic and unappetizing. The food overall lacked flavor and variety. When we first arrived, the bed in our room had hair all over it, and the bathroom smelled like feet. We immediately reported this to the front desk and were moved to a different room, which we appreciated. However, we had booked two rooms and were placed in different buildings; one in Building 3 and the other in Building 5. To be in the same building, we were forced to pay an additional $475 for an upgrade, which felt unreasonable given our original booking.
One highlight was the concierge assigned to us (We had the Concierge package (gold band)), he was very attentive and helped set up our room with special decorations and a cake for our son’s celebration, as requested. This thoughtful gesture was much appreciated and made a positive impact during our stay.
Additionally, the water park was a hit with our kids, clean, well-maintained, and fun.
This was our fourth time visiting Punta Cana, and sadly, this was by far the worst hotel we’ve stayed at. The experience wasn’t completely terrible, but it certainly wasn't what we expected. We won’t be returning.
