« Trains, River, and Mountain view with enough room for a five-person family, and updated cold air conditioning and kitchen. The location is nice for deploying by car across the New River Gorge region. In West Virginia fashion, expect 3-7 coal trains a night at the nearby double crossing. Their horns can be startling if you’re a light sleeper. Our kids didn’t mind at all and loved the trains. Even the Amtrak Cardinal line runs through 3x a week at 10:30 am. « My wife and I stayed for 2 nights to visit New River Gorge National Park. The location was great, being a short drive to the Canyon Rim visitor center and multiple trailheads, and also very close to local restaurants. For the house itself, it seemed recently updated with new flooring and was spacious & very clean. The hot tub was a nice feature to relax after hiking, and the water was crystal clear & clean. We also enjoyed the rocking chairs on the front porch in the evenings. »

« There were plenty of beds and space. It was clean and comfortable. it had plenty of dishes, and we appreciated that there were laundry facilities. It was an easy drive to all the places we wanted to get to in New River Gorge National Park. »

Impressed with the cleanliness and the serene setting. we heard turkeys but that was all.Great location to see local sights!Stormy the cat was a pleasant surprise. You might give more details about the location of feeding dishes.We suggest more hooks in second bedroom. Also, the last outside step was difficult to manage. Need some cutesy curb appeal. Maybe shutters or window boxes.Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. »

« The Mountain Hideaway was the best part of our vacation. The home is clean and beautiful. Very quiet country area with lots of room. The address was confusing our gps. We found our host by accident and he assisted us to find the property. I would suggest that all vrbo hosts send their phone number in advance directly to clients several days in advance of their stay. I very much look forward to staying there again. »
