4/10 – Schlecht

As is typical with Hyatt. Nothing is ever complementary, they never do anything for their guests unless it's squeezing more money out of them.
When I checked in, I was told I could get an upgrade to my room with a high floor and a view, of course I was like "oh thank you so much, it's my birthday" but then the representative said "it'll just be an extra $10/night." I felt a little bit like I was being nickeled and dimmed but decided "hey what the heck, let's do it." The upgraded view was of the AMC theatre building and the parking garage.
The room itself was standard but there was a bit of a weird smell, I can't exactly compare it to anything but can say that it was unpleasant.
If you want breakfast it'll cost you $32 per person which is suppose is to be expected now a days, dinner was on the expensive side and food was standard.
Our first morning there, we asked to go up to the top floor, where the property markets an observation area available to the public but we were told it was not available that morning because it was being set up for an event. We just wanted to see the sunrise.
Overall this is pretty much the experience we have had with Hyatt in the past. They pretend it is upscale, but in reality it's just standard. The customer service is, "I'll be nice to you but I expect extra compensation for it." This hotel chain will Nickle and dime you at every turn and honestly this is probably the last time we will stay at a Hyatt.
It's consistently unpleasant.
