All the staff we dealt with were excellent. The room was beautifully renovated. The only downside we encountered was the bed was a bit big for the bedroom. A queen size would have fit better.

We stayed at a room with the loveliest view of the river! The lovely music playing at the entrance was a nice touch. The staff were all polite, professional and attentive. There was a complimentary mini buffet breakfast that was delicious (way better than many paid breakfast buffet across Canada). We did enjoy our stay and would come back again. We highly recommend this clean and quiet hotel.

Honestly, great place to stay, but the hallways and the elevators stink really bad. I thought maybe it was just the one day but it continued all weekend. The room was great and amazing location. Would have been a 5 star review if it weren’t for the smell. I had to cover my nose in the hallways.

Highly recommend, was exactly like described.. the staff very friendly and opened doors and held elevators.. thank you!! Breakfast was 11 out of 10. Good was delicious service exceptional!! Our king suite was perfect , felt like home!!! Thank you to all at James hotel!!!

I don’t even know where to start with this place! Perfection. From the most incredibly comfortable bed and clean crisp linens, to the extremely well appointed suite, every aspect of this place was a total win for us! We will be planning an annual vacation here from now on. My highlights include, staff greeting us and opening the doors like you would imagine at the highest end New York hotels. Beautiful fixtures in the room, including the coolest doorhandles and beautiful light fixtures. The incredible view from the bright windows and comfortable patio. Location was amazing, staff was friendly and professional. And the breakfast was the best included breakfast I’ve ever had! Thank you, and we sure can’t wait to come again!

What a fantastic experience! The room was comfortable, extremely clean with spectacular views. The in room coffee was delicious and the breakfast was freshly made, to order. The perfect quaint, stylish hotel on the river. I will certainly be back.

I always enjoy my stays at The James. The chef attended breakfast room is a highlight as is the luxurious bedding. I usually get a river facing suite with a balcony to take advantage of the sights and sounds of Spadina Crescent.
