Everything was as expected. The house was clean and we had adequate parking for four cars and space for another under the covered portion of the house. Management was very friendly with all questions and concerns. We would definitely recommend and the house will be high on our list if we choose to come back to Tybee.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Beach House! The home was very clean, well-kept, and offered more than expected—plenty of linens and a well-stocked kitchen with all the cookware and utensils we needed. Although it rained for most of our trip, the screened-in porch and covered carport made a huge difference and gave us extra space to relax without feeling cooped up inside. The house also has ample parking, which was very convenient. Overall, a comfortable and well-equipped place to stay.

It was overall okay. The pool was just "meh".The warmest pool ever. Like bathwater. I couldn't swim in it. Reminded me of pee. We did find a couple of roaches in the kitchen. Twin beds upstairs were so uncomfortable. I had to use the mattress pad in the closet and the comforter from the other bed (luckily I was alone in that room). The wagon was nice for the beach and it was a short walk to the beach.

Return to the Pirate House

This is our 3rd stay here-and the kids love it sooo much! Esp the swing chair in the living room and the ping pong table downstairs :-) it is so cozy and an easy walk to the beach! Very family and kid friendly.

Excellent summer getaway!!!

We went in mid August and it was HOT, but the house was cool and close enough to the beach to walk. There were 9 of us in our group ranging in ages from 8 to 45 and we all loved it!! We would definitely go again!

Pirates!!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house was very kid-friendly, making our family vacation stress-free and enjoyable. The short, easy walk to the beach (only 0.2 miles) was incredibly convenient. Our kids absolutely loved the pirate-themed bedroom – it added an extra touch of fun to their stay. The hosts, Southern Belle, were great to work with and checked in to ensure everything was okay. While a bit of extra cleaning would make it perfect (well loved property ) we still had a fantastic experience overall. We look forward to returning!

Barefoot Children Paradise

Our family has stayed here twice and we are totally in love with the place. It has a porch swing, ring game, pirate ship bunk beds, huge kitchen and living room, inside swing, cute furniture, plenty of bathrooms. Truly something for everyone! An enclosed lower area with ping pong table. Could not be more kid friendly. Location is perfect for beach and local stuff. Pool is warm and clean. We hope to return!!!

Excellent Beachside Location

The location of this house is spectacular! Easy and close access to the beach. Nice quiet neighborhood, and a fast walk to restaurants and shops. The room sizes were great. But the description of the bathrooms was a little misleading. There are 3 toilets and 2 showers. One of the showers is shared in a Jack and Jill fashion on the first floor. The kitchen is dated and not marvelously equipped, but we were able to get by, just took some juggling of pans and plates (lots of plates available but many of the don’t fit in the dishwasher and who wants to be hand washing plates for a family of 8 on vacation?) The pool area was also great and well worth the drive to get there. I highly recommend this house!

Perfect place to stay for our family

I absolutely love that this place was designed with children in mind. I am grateful that there wasn’t too many breakables around. Just a short walk to the beach, food, shopping, gas station, and food market.

Perfect Oasis

We could not have had more perfect accommodations for our family spring break. The children have fully embraced the pirate life after taking over the bunk bed room while the upstairs crew is sad they don’t have a sitting room attached to their home bedroom! Being able to walk to the beach or pool was exquisite!

We got in later at night and contacted by the owner the next morning to make sure everything was in working order. We had plenty of room and everything was within walking distance. Very happy with the accommodations!

Stay on Tybee Island

Though not the worst stay, it certainly not the best. Didn’t expect a mansion, but didn’t expect the property to be so dated. The A/C for the downstairs was not sufficient for cooling comfortably, therefore box fans had to be used. Washer and dryer were so noisy, the door to the room had to be closed. Property needs a little TLC, nothing extensive, but for the rate, it needs to be done and if at all possible, a ramp may need to be installed to accommodate seniors and those who may be disabled.

Cute vintage cottage close to the beach

We loved staying at Barefoot Children. It’s a short walk to a great beach and a great neighborhood. The cottage is very cute (but a bit shabby). We loved the colorful furniture and decorations. There were toys and games available which was a nice touch. We liked the available parking under the cottage. We had a small maintenance issue and Southern Belle was very responsive and corrected the issue. I would stay here again. Both booking and check in were handled super efficiently.

Great location, Great Stay!

We had a wonderful time with our family at this very nice house. Our son loved the Pirate's bedroom. The house is well equipped with everything you need. Very quiet and so close to the beach. We love going to Tybee in the Winter and will definitely stay at Barefoot Children again. Strongly recommend, especially if you have you kids!

Perfect for families - close to the beach!

This property was perfect for our family of 8! All the necessities and lots of fun touches (games, decor, etc.). The 2-3 block distance to the beach was fantastic, even for our you f children. We loved this property and would definitely stay here again.

Great house / location

We had a great stay over spring break. It was very close to the beach and walkable to the pool/restaurants/etc. We had 3 adults and 3 children staying and had plenty of room. The one bummer is that the heater for the pool was turned off/broken. The water was freezing - so cold that we instead booked a day pass for a local hotel that had a heated pool. I found the communication from the property manager regarding that to be terse and lacking. Nonetheless I would totally recommend - and we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect girls trip

We fully enjoyed staying at the Barefoot Children home! Almost everything was within walking distance. The home itself was nicely decorated and had plenty of room for our group of girls. The only complaint we really had was the pool was not heated! Other than that it was a perfect week!
