Christmas week stay!!! Perfect stay right across the road from Schroon Lake. The home is amazing, with three floors of well appointed and well laid out rooms. We had 6 folks and we were super comfortable in all common spaces and the bedrooms. The architectural details in the house are very appealing as well. Schroon is very quiet in the winter and that is exactly what we were looking for this year. The lake was frozen over and the skating rink was right up the road. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would stay again without a thought.

This house on Schroon Lake is great! The pictures don’t do it justice. We loved it. It was clean and had everything you’d need inside. Check in was smooth and communication top notch. Guys went ice fishing and caught huge lake trout. Perfect winter getaway. Can’t wait to get back!

Lovely home and town!

Our family enjoyed even every moment of our stay. The home is beautiful, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the nearby skiing at Gore Mountain. We also enjoyed the town. There was free ice skating, a wonderful coffee shop, and a wonderful store that sold gifts as well as fresh bread. We were able to walk to a nearby church on Sunday. There is a grocery store, restaurants, shopping and entertainment all within walking distance. Our children are already asking when we can return! Thank you for a terrific vacation.

Family getaway

My daughter just graduated, we took my mother, sister, and she brought a couple of friends. They had a ball! They swam in the lake right across the street. Were able to walk to restaurants and coffee right around the corner as well as some cute shops. The house is big with plenty of separate spaces so the teens could be up all night and not bother a soul. We enjoyed the pool table. Also a large open place for gathering. The beds were very comfortable with soft sheets and everything is very clean. It's an absolutely beautiful property and we enjoyed our stay very much. The owner is very accessible and happy to help with whatever needed.

Wonderful Winter Getaway

The place is fabulous and the host was amazing. We rented the house for a winter trip. The location was perfect for cross country and downhill skiing. The house was really charming and comfortable for 5 adults with room for more. There were so many special touches provided. Astrid thought of everything you can need and helped us feel right at home. We had a fantastic time at the chalet by Schroon Lake. The house is beautiful and spacious and had lots to offer for our family and especially the three teenage boys. The location is great right by the lake and the host was very professional and friendly. Definitely recommended!

Amazing location and views

We had a great time staying here! Everything was thought of! The views from all the bedrooms and porch and deck were all amazing and center of town and beach are a 1 minute walk away. The beach was great to relax by on a hot summer day and the house itself has plenty of entertainment. The basement consists of a large game room with foosball, billiards, crokinole, and numerous board games plus all the beach supplies you might need. The main floor has a large open floor plan with musical instruments and state of the art kitchen, along with the master bedroom and guest bedroom. The covered deck was a great addition as we spent every night out there without worrying about bugs but still enjoying the great upstate NY outdoors! On the second floor are two more bedrooms both with their own bathrooms which made it great as the kids had their own space along with a nice sitting area and another outdoor balcony. The host was very responsive and made us feel very welcome. We loved our stay and can’t wait to return!

Chateau at Dock Street

Listing is very accurate. Owner was very courteous and responsive through the app. The house is well kept, spacious, and has fantastic views with excellent porch to enjoy them from. It is located across the street from the town beach which has nice sand and gentle slope into the water which was very approachable for our little ones. There are shops and stores nearby with a convivence store and grocery store within walking distance. We definitely recommend this property to anyone considering renting.

Reluctant to write about our new best kept secret

If our host weren’t such a delight, we would probably wouldn’t be writing this review for fear of others discovering our new little oasis at Schroon Lake! Having never before been to the Château or this section of the Adirondacks, we were blown away by the incredible home, location by the lake, & charming Hallmark-like town. The Chateau is spacious, beautifully designed, & convenient to everything. The main level is huge with different areas each featuring their own amenities — a table perfect for cards or a puzzle with gorgeous views of the lake. A TV area with a sumptuous leather sofa to sink into & enjoy a movie… another sofa in the living room to share drinks & laughs by a baby grand piano, and spacious dining room table. The full gourmet spacious eat-in kitchen is well stocked, a joy to use, & features a ginormous kitchen island… or just steps away, there is the wrap-around outdoor deck w/fantastic bbq, outdoor dining table, and seating area with umbrella for the sun-shy. The master bathroom on the main level is like walking into HGTV… a stand-alone tub, heated floors, walk in shower for 2… And the walk-in closet is to die for! The upstairs 2 bedrooms & ensuites were incredibly comfortable — each with amazing views of the lake across the street. The upstairs library is perfect for those not wanting to sleep to read or hang out plus a veranda brings the outdoors indoors! The lower level rec room was fully equipped with a pool & foos ball table, board games, a TV, a bar, and just outside a gorgeous yard with fire pit, a small area to shoot hoops, as well as a short walk practically next door to grab ice cream or a 60 second walk to the lake. Downtown is merely a two minute walk… and the town has a fabulous local diner/restaurant (be sure to order the brisket Mac & cheese), a general store that has the cutest souvenirs, or a short drive or longer walk to a full grocery store. We were surprised how short of a drive it was to to find numerous activities in the vicinity. Don’t miss Fort Ticonderoga and the town! Star Trek Fans will love the museum in its honor! Cute restaurants & ice cream shops! We left refreshed and knew our vacation was value was incredible for all we got. Oh well! Now our secret is out — and we hope you will have as memorable experience as we did! P.S. My friend told me not to forget to mention the numerous pieces of original art that fills the house by local artists. Absolutely beautiful!
