À propos de cet hébergement

Cabane Douillette + Bain à Remous + Terrasses | Arcade + Vue Montagne Près du Parc | Dancing Bear

  • There's a certain hour in the Smokies when the ridgelines turn deep blue, the string lights flicker on, and the only sound is a rocking chair creaking somewhere down the deck. Dancing Bear was built for that hour. This handsome log cabin sits high above Pigeon Forge with layered mountain views that stretch on for miles, and wraparound covered decks made for lingering — rocking chairs lined up along the rail, a porch swing swaying at one end, a hot tub ready for post-adventure soaks, and a gas grill ready for the evening's cookout. Out here, it's just you and the mountains; step onto the deck and you'd never guess another cabin sits anywhere nearby.

Step inside and the great room opens up beneath soaring wood-beamed ceilings, anchored by a stone fireplace and a deep, cushiony sectional that practically dares you to stay in your pajamas until noon. The space flows easily into a full kitchen with stainless appliances and plenty of counter space, and a dining table set beneath a chandelier where big group breakfasts and card games tend to run long. Wood-paneled walls, warm lighting, and windows that frame the mountains from nearly every room give the whole place that unmistakable Smoky Mountain feel.

The sleeping arrangements are a real treat for a group of eight. Three king bedrooms, and every single one has its own private ensuite bath — no shuffling down the hall in the dark, no bathroom negotiations in the morning. The main-floor master is the showpiece: a king bed, a jetted jacuzzi tub positioned beside a window so you can soak with a view, and a separate walk-in shower. Two more king suites sit on the lower level, each with its own full bath — and downstairs you'll also find a tabletop retro arcade loaded with 500 games, the kind of thing that pulls the whole group together after dark and settles more than a few friendly rivalries. For the extra couple of guests, the sun room couch opens into a queen bed, tucked into a bright, window-lined spot that's a favorite for anyone who likes to wake with the mountains. It all gives couples and friends the kind of privacy and space that keeps everyone happy at the end of a long day of adventuring.

And there's plenty of adventuring within reach. You're just minutes from the Parkway, where Dollywood, The Island and its towering wheel, dinner shows, mini-golf, and endless family attractions keep the days full. The main entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a short drive away — think misty morning hikes, Cades Cove wildlife loops, and waterfalls tucked into the hardwoods. Gatlinburg's shops, the SkyBridge, and Ober Mountain are close by too, and when you've had enough of the crowds, the mountain road home delivers you right back to the quiet of the deck.

Come sundown, that's usually where everyone ends up anyway — grill going, hot tub waiting, mountains fading to purple, someone claiming the porch swing before anyone else can. Dancing Bear is the kind of place that turns a trip into a tradition.
