Mountaintop Cabin in Gated Resort Community

Upon walking in Lightening Bug Lodge, the breathtaking smoky mountain views within Shagbark resort immediately take you to a place where time is irrelevant. The only thing concerning is where to relax and to take in the natural beauty Lightening Bug Lodge provides. Located inside the beautiful Shagbark Resort in the Walden Creek/Wear’s Valley area, Lightening Bug Lodge is just outside Pigeon Forge, TN and provides the safety and security of a 24-hour gated guard shack. You can enjoy access to the beautiful community swimming pool, basketball courts, and tennis courts. The pool is open Memorial-Labor Day! The two full wrap around porches provide serene wooded views that you can enjoy on the decks’ multiple seating arrangements and swings. Soak in the hot tub after a long day of activities in town or hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The main deck offers rocking chairs, a dining table, a swing, and a large propane grill. The lower decks have plenty of seating for morning coffee and quiet moments as well as a bubbling hot tub. This location requires a $10 parking pass which is covered for the first vehicle. Additional vehicles will be paid for after booking by the guest. A name, email, and phone number is required for each vehicle before checkin.

This one-of-a-kind 3BR/3BA mountain cabin features three stories and two expansive decks with a large hot tub nestled in a nice private spot on the lower deck. There is room for the entire family to enjoy sweet mountain breezes and breathtaking mountain views. Upon entering the main floor of our cabin, you will be surrounded by 2 story gabled windows that give you a constant view of the beautiful Smoky Mountains right outside the multilevel, wrapped decks. You will find a fully stocked kitchen with a dishwasher and cabinets stocked full of dishes and cookware to feed the entire family. The dinning table has a hidden leaf that expands to seat 8 with extra chairs nearby. There are also 4 extra stools for the pub table and island to accommodate larger families. A spacious living room offers a beautiful floor to ceiling stacked stone fireplace with a fully modernized entertainment selection with flat screen LED TV and two comfy pull out sofas to relax on. The kitchen and living room provide an open concept with plenty of space for the whole family to relax. Each of the bedrooms is located on its own floor for added privacy. This three-story cabin sleeps up to 14 guests with three bedrooms and multiple other sleeping arrangements throughout the house. Each bedroom has a flat-screen TV. The master bedroom and accompanying bathroom, located on the third floor, offer another flat screen TV and king bed for your own quiet getaway. The master features an open concept with soaring ceilings and exposed beams. There is a nook at the top of the stairs that has a bunk bed with a full-size bed on the bottom and a twin bed on the top. The second bedroom is on the main floor where you enter the cabin. This tranquil retreat is detailed with a queen size bed and there’s a full bath located on the same level. The bathroom on this level has a large jacuzzi tub for ultimate relaxation. The main floor also features the kitchen and dining areas and a large flat screen smart TV. The airy living room boasts mountain décor, a seasonal stone fireplace, and gleaming wood floors and ceilings. There are two pull out couches in the living room that can also be pulled out into 2 full size beds for extra guest or extra relaxation while you settle in to watch your favorite shows. The open-concept kitchen is outfitted with a full suite of stainless-steel appliances and ample counter space. When it's time to eat, gather around the six-person dining table to share home-cooked meals and beautiful woodland views.
For more fun and entertainment, venture down to the basement. The basement features a second TV living area setup with a large sectional couch for watching your favorite movies. The basement also has a pool table, foosball table, and an arcade style gaming system along with access to the lower deck and hot tub. Head outside for grilling on the large gas grill, relaxing on the wood swing set or kick back and live it up in the Hot Tub on our lower level deck. The third bedroom and full bath are located in the basement. This bedroom is also furnished with a king size bed and has its own private TV for ultimate relaxation. Visit Dollywood and downtown Gatlinburg within a short drive, then return home to watch the sun set over this incredible property. Or stay at the resort and enjoy plenty of extra entertainment . There is a pool, tennis courts, basket ball courts, and a walking trail. The walking trail has corn hole, frisbee golf, a giant jenga set, and a play area for kids!

*Pool* the shared pool is seasonal and not open during the winter months.
*Kids* The cabin is also kid friendly. There’s a cute little nook in the basement with kid toys for entertainment and a pack and play there for your use. These are located in the basement bedroom closet.
-All 5 TVs have are equipped with cable. The TVs in the main living room is a smart TVs where you can login to all your favorite streaming services.


*Parking* upon booking, kindly message with the following information so we can get your vehicles registered at the guard gate and parking pass started:

-We cover the first parking pass. Any additional cars will be $10 each for extra passes.

* We do have Wi-Fi listed as an amenity at this cabin. The internet works well most of the time, but in this mountain community Wi-Fi at times can be unreliable and is impacted by weather and trees falling. Occasionally, interruptions in service requiring the provider to send a technician will occur. Technician appointments will not always be available during the trip and are scheduled at the earliest possibility.

Some cell phone providers don’t get perfect service at the cabin ! We have Verizon and it works for us, but some providers seem to be spotty.
