Week-end deluxe

Le séjour c'est très bien passé, je suis entièrement satisfait! Belle établissement et bien equipé, personnel agréable et serviable, animé 7 jours sur 7. Les mauvais points que j'ai noté sont qu'il ne propose pas de petit déjeuné et que les serviettes n'étaient plus très blanche, sinon c'était très bien. À refaire!

great get away trip

great place. this was the 3rd time we stayed there. excellent location, staff is outstanding and the rooms are outstanding. I would recommend this place to anyone. thinking of going back next year.

Royal Palm

A great place to stay, clean, comfortable and friendly. Walking distance to entertainment and food. Nice beach for swimming. Pool area is clean and neat. Every room has a view. I would stay here again.

Nice getaway

The resort was very nice, clean and staff were helpful. The decor was a bit out dated but still clean and in very good condition. The kitchen was very well equipped and like new. If you are looking for a place to spend your vacation this is a good choice. I would not recommend leaving the resort however. We took daily excursions and drove around the entire Island. While there are many nice beaches to see, the overall feel was not so good. Seems like there are alot of natives out there trying to swindle you one way or another. Very expensive shops, restaurants and grocery stores and you don't get much for your money. Take my advice and be on your guard if you leave the resort.

Hard to do better for the money

Not a luxury hotel by any means, but clean, nice, comfortable, nice staff, decent beach. Pool is small, but, hey, this is not the Atlantis!

Wonderful long weekend getaway

The hotel is located about 2 miles from the airport. It has a private beach area. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean. The room were very large with kitchen and all the necessary cooking utilities. The supermarket was a 5 minute walk from the hotel.There were various dining options along the street near the hotel and the food was fabulous at all of the locations. The hotel had various amenities from spa to fitness center. There was an option to rent a car right at the hotel which was very convenient. Overall, we had a wonderful time staying at this hotel.

Pleasant surprise

When arriving at the property, my stomach sank a little, only because it was out of the norm for us. Overall, our stay was great. Check-in was painless. Room- Surprisingly nice. We had a 2 bdrm, 2 bath, ocean view. The beds were comfy, everything was clean and had all the amenities needed. The beach was disappointing. It wasn't the typical blue Caribbean water we expected. The pool was very small and had lots of activities for families. We arrived on Sunday, checked in and stayed on the beach for a few hours, at 8:30 am Monday we rented a car, and did a different beach everyday. The only time spent at the resort was when we got back from beaching, and after going out for dinners at night. A VERY STRONG NEGATIVE IS ABSOLUTELY NO INTERNET...... Yes, I know its vacation but everyone likes to stay connected. This was a huge negative for everyone in our party. 5 of us. Internet is available in the lounge, however it would have been nice to enjoy it sitting on our balcony, or our room. According to the front desk, its being worked on, but I read reviews from months ago where they stated the same thing. OVERALL, it is a good home base, close to everything, clean and centrally located.

great family trip

We have stayed in this hotel for the last 8 trips to St Martin. The location is great, the rooms are great. I will stay there again when I return to St Martin. I did find the the staff was more friendly this time around.

definitely an experience to be remembered

After requesting a non dining room, we were given a smoking room the odour was terrible. Cleaning service is every four days, or $60 per day for additional cleaning. The lights in the bathroom did not work.

Had a great time

The four of us arrived before the room was ready. Not a big problem normally. The staff provided a safe place for us to store our luggage and change for the beach. The problem was that the check in time came and went and still the room wasn't ready. We waited and waited and waited some more. The counter staff kept calling for someone to confirm the room was ready and no one bothered to reply. Finally someone took the initiative to actually go to the room and check. Once we finally got checked in, the room was very good and we enjoyed our stay. Just remember that everything is on island time. Oh....and there is a service charge added to every restaurant check. However, this is not a tip for the wait staff. We were told it is for the back of the house staff. You can end up paying 30% in tips. (This is not a Royal Palm thing, the entire island is that way.)

Nice family getaway

We just returned from spending thanksgiving weekend at royal palm beach resort. The two bedroom layout allowed us to have our boys in one room and us in the other. This is a timeshare property so daily cleaning is only provided with an extra payment. The full service kitchen provided us with the ability to have leisurely breakfasts in the room and to heat up leftovers from dinners out. There is only one restaurant at the resort and it is very average. Our kids enjoyed the pool and the game room. My husband and I were very impressed by the size and quality of the gym which we used almost daily. The activities desk is stocked with flyers and from those we found a good half day boat trip for snorkeling and exploring the French side of the island. Nearby restaurants and grocery stores made it easy to enjoy the local area. We had nice meals at Panlaan (thai), Izi ( Italian) and the palms (Caribbean food). The hotel is so so. If there was something nicer available I would prefer to stay there. But this was definitely convenient and we made the most of it. Try to get a room on the third floor or higher to get the nice views.

Royal Palm

I've been going to St. Marten for 23+ years, and this is my hotel of choice. Great rooms, each with a view. Full kitchen, dining room, LR, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One of my favorite places.

Nice hotel but...

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was nice, location was excellent, the stuff were friendly and helpful, but... when I came back to NY I got a phone call from my credit card company...telling me that someone tried to buy some stuff from the store in St.Maarten for $9800 using my credit card number, which I gave the Royal Palm Beach hotel for incidental charges, so my cc number was stolen from this hotel :( Will never stay at this hotel again!!!!!

nice family vacation getaway

This is a nice family resort, even though the hotel could use some cosmetic renovation. The best part is that you get a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, living room & dining room, so you feel very comfortable. All the rooms have ocean view & that is a nice perk.

The Best Place to Stay in Sint Maarten's...

It was better than we expected, especially for the price. We had a first floor 2 bedroom suite w/full kitchen & 2 full baths & it was beautiful. And if that wasn't enough, the patio walked right out onto the beach! The beach was your front yard! We were amazed! The pool was beautiful as well. Also great was the fact that there were so many places you could walk to. Every night we just walked to a different restaurant for dinner. And there were small markets to shop at to fill your fridge for breakfast & lunch. A couple of times we ate breakfast at a French pastry shop nearby. No need to rent a car whatsoever. We took the bus a couple of times to the boardwalk & beach in Philipsburg - only $1.50/person, one way - what! We want to go back to explore more.

Wonderful

Booked for long birthday weekend to get family in our favorite spot for a few days. We are familiar with the resort; check in was easy, accommodations were good. This is a timeshare resort, so if you are expecting room service and/or daily maid service go somewhere else. Staff is all friendly, this location is great right in Simpson Bay and close to Maho. Got a super rate too!

Need more 4 star guest service

Lovely hotel but a few flaws for being 4 star. Check in and check out was slow. Though professional, there seemed to be no urgency to move things along. No one offered to help with bags. Also mosquitoes were constantly in the room. Had two incidents with room that was quickly resolved and that is a plus. Staff was professional but lacked the friendliness and going the extra step to ensure guests felt valued. I enjoyed the on site beach very much and the males in the family liked the gym which was well equipped. A lot of choice of dining in the area and local markets not very expensive. My family would stay again but for me, I'm not so sure.

Despite an initial hiccup, stay was pleasant

Upon arrival, we were informed that the hotel was overbooked and that we would be forced to stay at a nearby sister resort. The sister resort was a mess -- shabby, unclean, no amenities. The following day we were finally able to check in to the resort we had booked. The staff was courteous but either impotent or unwilling to make any amends for the hassle we'd been put through upon attempting to check in. Eventually they did offer us a meal voucher for our troubles, but it seemed like a poor antidote to the problems at the beginning of our stay. Aside from this, our stay was pleasant. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. The resort is reasonably well-located with a handful of restaurants and activities within walking distance. For more exotic and diverse activities, restaurants and attractions, we had to take taxis which can be exceedingly pricey. The hotel's pool is nice, albeit small and crowded. The beach is pleasant but was a bit overrun by seaweed and frequent sales-pitches from the rather pushy masseurs that roam the beach. The workout room is open to the public and was often very crowded with monstrously-huge body-builders. All-in-all, we had a nice time but given the number and variety of other resorts on the island, I'd probably stay somewhere else next time.

Awesome hotel for everybody

Beautiful hotel right on the water with a swim up bar and restaurant on the beach. Great dining locations right across the street as well. Full kitchen.Doesn't get much better.
