We dropped our daughter off at college and made it a short vacation on the lake. Stores and Restaurants in Clemson and Seneca are only 20 minutes away and a Dollar General is 8 minutes away for quick grocery needs.
One of the Kayaks is not big enough for adults so that did change some of our recreation plans. We hiked Table Rock and Raven Rock. We also went to the Cliffs at the Vineyard and rented Jet skis for a day and rode them back to the house. I did take the adult kayak out twice for long, 5-6 mile paddle trips. We did not use the paddle boards though there are two available.
We did have some issues with the locking mechanism on the front door and ended up leaving the screen door open for our access but the area is so secluded this was not a risky venture.
The water does not get particularly hot either and water pressure is notably low in most of the sinks.
That ice machine is a 5 star bonus and I am now looking into one myself.
As a convenience to future renters, an additional adult kayak would be beneficial.
We were confused by the garbage process and did not see cans outside the unit so took bags of trash and pizza boxes to the top of the hill every time they were full. Other units have trash cans so not sure if we misunderstood directions there.
While the cabin itself was nice, they are all extremely close together, we had kids with us and received complaints our first night there. It also states that we are allowed to have visitors by boat parked on the outside of the dock but we had a boat there for less than an hour and received complaints about this as well. The property manager is very sweet but we were told by several people that the permanent residents hate renters so they complain about everything so that the HOA will stop allowing people to rent out their cabins. We felt like we had to walk on eggshells the entire trip. My sister and her family came from South Georgia and we donât see each other but once every few years. This was our first family trip and we were disappointed with the entire situation. The cabin was great but unfortunately we will not be returning.
Nice location! Very easy drive to Clemson and right on the lake. Some updates in the kitchen utensils and bedding would be nice. But otherwise a great house for a weekend in Clemson!
We enjoy the location of the cabin very relaxing, but needed to be a bit. more clean the fireplace didn't work, no internet wifi, the furniture needed to be upgraded, tried to get in touch with someone from the first day and got no response.
Convenient to Clemson and hiking. Great to have a separate space downstairs to watch TV and play pool. We stayed during the Fall so we didn't use the lake but enjoyed the view.
Location was good but not right on the lake as advertised. (There is a limited lake view.) The amenities are very outdated. Sheets, towels, rugs are very worn and very old and showers are tiny. There is a leak in the basement ceiling that should have been addressed. Spent time cleaning it up. We own a house on another lake and appreciate nice linens, towels and other basics.
It wouldnât take that much to make this a 5 star rental, but updates and repairs are needed.
We enjoyed our stay very much, but didn't realize this was a cluster of cabins (vs just a home on the lake) Had all of the necessary items for a comfortable stay and enjoyed the two decks and the pool table. A guide to streaming options on TV would have been nice. We almost missed the end of the Clemson game because we couldn't find the ACC network. (But we did find it!) Thank you for sharing your home with us.
