PLEASE READ:
We want to start by saying that the unit and it’s quality were great for a quick weekend at Snowshoe. Very simple, clean, and spacious enough for 4-6 people. The employees at Mountain Lodge were very kind and the location is great for accessing the slopes and main village.
HOWEVER:
We had an extremely POOR experience renting with this specific unit owner as he failed to put us in the system for our reservation. Check in was at 5pm and (we) as the Vrbo renters had to attempt to contact our renter personally.
The Mountain Lodge Resort DOES NOT keep unit owners’ phone numbers on file and will not allow you to check in without their information completed. We had our booking confirmations and emails, but still no luck. We could not enter the room. And our renter was unresponsive.
Thus, we spent over an hour attempting to get ahold of Mr. Roy in the parking lot of this lodge due to the lack of cell service. We ended up having to nap in our cars, miss our dinner reservations, and simply hope by the time we got back our info was entered on his end.
NOTE:
When Mr. Roy did respond there was no sense of urgency or care that a room that wasn’t even available to us.
The employees at the lodge recognized this renters name upon saying it to them, and apparently this is far from the first time he has failed to enter bookings.
I requested an extension to our stay by 3.5 hours. This would allow us to check out later. No response. Then, I requested monetary compensation. After, ignoring all of our concerns he offered an extension; it was given after we had packed up. I basically had to demand this reconciliation.
Overall, we felt that for the money, time, and effort spent to plan a snowboarding weekend, this was a lousy renter to deal with. We basically want WARN anyone renting at Mountain Lodge AGAINST renting this particular unit / property owner.
