Lovely cottage - as advertised

We had a delightful time at Sunset Beach, and this cottage met our needs quite well. It is well-maintained and very clean, and we needed nothing we could not find as far as kitchen and other amenities. I describe it as a "cottage" because it is relatively small. 3BR, 2Bath, but tight. 5-minute walk to the beach. Nice dining nook. Good sitting area. Perfectly fine kitchen with refrig with water and ice. Front porch with rockers to watch sunrises, not sunsets. They could have used a better side table for the coffee out there. One busted, the other, wicker, required attention before setting cups/glasses down on it safely. I am old (75) and the older I get the pickier I get. Hence - I hate "modern" flooring - the plastic stuff. Easy to clean, sure, but boring. I mention this because in a house full of it you need a rug bedside to wipe your sandy feet on before getting into bed. I used a spare towel. It would be an extremely nice accoutrement to provide small mats/towels/rugs bedside.Typical Sunset Beach neighborhood, but here is my biggest warning - the 2-* "location" rating above: look at the map. 6th street is something of a thoroughfare for all traffic headed towards the east end of the island. Hundreds of cars and trucks passed each day. If you want truly quiet, pick another street - 1st through 5th, or one of the fish. Or something on the other end of the island.

Great house for a small group

The house is in a good location close to the beach and local businesses. Newly renovated, linens provided, and cute, comfortable decor. The kitchen is adequate but not fully stocked. Not enough glassware, drinking or wine for more than 2 guests. Beach equipment like chairs and boogie boards are available. A good rental.

Wonderful Beach Weekend

Our family had a wonderful time in Bee Happy. The house was clean and comfortable, the porch was lovely and there were even some items to use on the beach available. The host was very responsive. The front door sticks but we did go after Hurricane Debby had just been through so perhaps that was an issue. Given that it had rained so much, the house was overall dry and snug. Beware of the water and ice dispensers on the fridge if you have never used one that has them separate - we had a few folks that had trouble remembering but getting wet a few times was more memorable.

Not sure freshly remodeled is accurate

The location of the house is great but the cleanliness and the condition of the furnishings leaves a lot to be desired. The couches in the living room are stained and dirty, we had to wash a blanket from the cabinet (at this point we didn't know what to trust as clean or dirty) and lay it over. The kitchen table, chairs, barstools, baseboards throughout the house are beat up or broken along with several blinds. The nightstand in the master bedroom had been recovered with something very sticky. I did text the property manager about the bed sheets with several hairs, the dishwasher full of dishes that were dirty and clumps of food on them and the patio furniture being filthy. They sent the house cleaner over immediately and she apologized, changed our sheets and cleaned the outdoor furniture (which she also noted probably hadn't been cleaned for quite some time). However, later we found several of our bath towels also had clumps of hair. The master bathroom also had very dirty floors with quite a bit of hair. And lastly, not sure what had been sprayed in the house before we arrived (either air freshener or perfume) but it was extremely strong and we had to open the windows for a couple days to try to air out. The pictures definitely make it appear cleaner or less beat up than what it was in real life. The location to the beach was very nice and a short walk. For what we paid I would have expected things to be in a better condition than they are.

Little things like finding small things on floor, makes you wonder have they sweept /vacuumed
 little things like thin, rug on porch that didn’t stay put, lamps in bedroom that looked flimsy, makes you think they could have taken more care with the little things

Great Family Beach Cottage!

“Bee Happy” cottage was perfect for our family beach get away. The cottage is very close to beach access on a quiet street. The cottage is newly renovated and decked out in beach decor. It had everything we needed and more! We look forward to booking this wonderful beach cabin again soon.

Cute house. Front covered porch with rockers was wonderful. Short walk to beach. The house could have been cleaner and we had an issue with roaches. On the upside, the appliances were in great condition. The area underneath was very roomy and clean. Space for 2 cars and still lots of room for chairs, beach wagon etc. Overall this house was very nice and we would stay here again.
