The Chateau beach house at Playa Bolonia is rustic, but was ideal for us in so many ways! Primarily, we loved that it was only minutes to the most beautiful, uncrowded, turquoise beach where we could literally see the coast of Africa! There was a water view from the bedroom window. We did NOT want some crowded, generic resort, so Playa Bolonia was perfect. Also, very family oriented; popular for windsurfing. The location was also great as we didn't have a car but could walk to all the nearby restaurants, shops and markets, which were only a few minutes away. There is a chiringuito, Casa Rios, basically next door. We enjoyed a couple of nice lunches there and late in the day it was convenient for a beer and a tinto verano! The house is well appointed! Had everything you could possibly want in the kitchen. We didn't do much cooking but would have had anything we needed. Bath towels were provided as well (maybe a few more would be good for future guests!) and there was lovely bedding upstairs. We didn't need the fireplace in June. For guests with mobility issues, be aware that the bedroom is upstairs and the bath downstairs. There are also no screens on the windows (none needed - the sea breeze is sublime) and no air conditioning. Lots of fans though. For some, those might be drawbacks. The house seems private & removed but isn't. There are businesses and dwellings all around it -- that may matter to some. Our host Katti was WONDERFUL! Would definitely go again!
