This cozy little cottage was perfect! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend anniversary getaway (I surprised him, he said it was perfect). SW Michigan in the winter is so beautiful. From the moment we stepped in, we were amazed. It was so clean, bright and warm, tastefully furnished, and full of everything we could have needed. We immediately started birdwatching, sitting on the couch looking out the sliding doors at the bird feeder. There was even a Birds of Michigan book in the cottage, so we were able to identify the ones we didn't know. The sunset across the field was breathtaking. The property is gorgeous, I was so happy the creek wasn't frozen over, we could hear a tiny waterfall under the bridge a short distance up stream. The hot tub was clean and very easy to use, looking at the stars while having a soak was lovely. The property was very easy to find, and Vandalia is close to many cute small towns, has nice lakes, and a dark sky preserve, about 30 minutes to Elkhart, IN. The cherry on top were the homemade cinnamon buns, they were the best I've ever had! Before we left we explored the trail, even with snow it was very enjoyable. Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts, we'd love to come back :)
