Wonderful

Everything was perfect. The only reason I gave it four stars for cleanliness was there were 5 to 6 piles of dog poo in the backyard. I cleaned it up. Everything else was perfect and we had a wonderful week.

A great beach stay!

An incredibly homey and pet friendly beach cottage! Owners have clearly continued improvement on the property, with many more amenities than those pictured. Easy beach and bay access made for a trip full of options for activities. 10/10 would stay again!

Definitely coming back next summer

Our stay at the Barefoot Bungalow was great. The house was very clean and comfortable, and the yard was amazing! We were able to catch some catfish off the dock, and feed some turtles too. The kids got to kayak in the bay, and swim all week in the ocean and the pool. We’ll definitely be making this a yearly vacation spot. Also, thanks to the owners for the recommendations, loved the Baja and Bandido’s!

Nice dog friendly home

Check-in and check-out was very easy. The fenced in backyard is great for dogs. The deck, pool and hot tub were great. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to dine in. Plenty of towels and linens were available. Sofa and carpets were somewhat worn but comfortable. The front and back outside stairs are steep so be aware if elderly. Overall a very good experience.

Peaceful Property with Everything we Needed

Overall, we loved the proper. It had wonderful amenities. It was peaceful, and we had everything we needed. It was only a short walk to the beach, and the beach was beautiful! The only things that could have been better were: the bottom of the pool was covered with bird poop, so we didn't really use it; the grill wasn't cleaned and was clearly used to cook fish, so we didn't use it; there were dirty dog bowls and toys laying around the property~our dog tried to drink out of one of the bowls that had dirty water in it before we could get it picked up. Otherwise, the property offered a wonderful place that we could vacation and bring our dog, and that was something that was hard to find.

Family getaway

Since my son is stationed down there, every year myself & my other children vacation down there & my son & his family come to stay with us. When I found this place I thought it looked beautiful! I am not one to complain, & we had a great time despite some issues, but I feel like these are worth mentioning. Upon arriving, I found the kitchen counters to be very sticky. I also found a wet dirty sock on the counter, and another on the sofa. There was a small piece of metal (I sent a picture) in the sheets in my son's bed, that cut his foot! Our sofa bed in the living room was broken & nobody came out to look at it until the next day. Luckily I brought a blow up mattress which we had to use for the whole stay. There was dog hair everywhere. If I had access to a vacuum, I would have done it myself. There was hair on the bathroom floor. It just wasn't clean. Kinda gross. I cleaned as best as I could, but shouldn't have had to for the money I paid! This is beyond their control, but worth mentioning...there was no water in the inlet to the bay therefore we could not use the kayaks or paddle boards (this was a big factor in me choosing this place!). Overall, we had a good time, but it was disappointing. When they reached out to me the 1st or 2nd day asking about the place, I told them these things, but nothing was done about it. Nobody from Vacasa ever reached out to me, so what was the point in asking to begin with if you weren't going to do anything about it.

The perfect beach getaway. It had a little bit of everything. The ocean was a short walk away and the canal was great for kayaking and observing wildlife. The pool was so much fun and we loved the hot tub. The house was beautiful with so many amenities. We cannot wait to return!

The house was awesome. The pool was awesome. There were some dirty pillow cases on the bed. There were also a bunch sandspur burrs everywhere in the yard. Our toddler stepped on a few. The adults stepped on them. Originally, we were going to bring our dog but decided against it. It’s a good thing because our dog would have had them everywhere. We just quick walking on the grass unless we had shoes on. The hosts were awesome and super helpful. The property was great. We caught a lot of fish off of the dock. We would stay there again.

Home away from home

This older beach house was well equipped with all the basic needs. Kitchen was fully stocked. Beds were comfortable and had an abundance of storage for your belongings. Bathrooms were clean and furnished with plenty of towels. Added bonus of toys, if you brought your 4legged family member along. Internet was satisfactory And Netflix for a rainy day. Porches provided privacy and intimate setting area for a family bbq. Pool was clean and a hot tub to relax in after along day at the beach. At no extra cost, kayaks and paddle boards were available. Amazing sunset views every evening while listening to the wildlife amongst the bay. On site laundry and a large fenced-in yard for children or pets to safely play. Ample paved parking with basketball hoop. Definitely less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. This is a newer rental and I was a little apprehensive about no prior reviews, however this was satisfactory for my family and our budget. Nothing but good things to say about “Barefoot Bungalow”.

Our weekend stay

The property location is lovely, beautiful view from the back of the house and a short walk to the beach. It was very nice that they provided kayaks and a paddle board for use. The pool was also a plus for us. However I do want to mention that there was dog hair on sofa seats and throughout home under beds and coffee buffet keep in mind of allergic. Also one Saturday we were interrupted with a grass cutting that then left the pool full of grass clippings. We enjoyed the outdoor screened porch section and the chils proof gates. The home has all the necessary accommodations. We just needed to buy a propane tank for grill so keep in mind to check. A little out dated but it was still a lovely weekend. Some pros and wanted to share our cons that may not bother others.
