« The Visby Fängelse hostel is a practical place to stay in Visby, well located just outside of the ferry. The vintage wallpaper and historical decor elements are nice and funny, as well as the experience of sleeping in what used to be a prison. However, there is almost no staff, only staff at the bar somewhat know what’s happening. There are not enough showers and toilets for the number of guests. « Just as Visby is an ideal place for a relaxing weekend, the hotel is quiet, clean and very well located, just a 5-minute walk from the town centre and harbour (just be aware that the climb up to the hotel can be a good exercise for the legs). The staff were very welcoming and showed a great deal of attention to helping me check in late and make my stay a pleasant one. I also found the breakfast delicious and wide-ranging. »

« Really nice small hotel, convenient to historic area (although the entire inner town is historic). A bit warm because no air conditioning, but then it IS summer. Good breakfast with many choices. The staff at breakfast was a bit harried (not enough staff with too much to do), but still friendly. Would gladly stay her again. »
