Nice accomadations north of Kona and avoiding resort costs
Good location. Stark and minimal accomadations but were were comfortable for three nights. Needs more attention to details; minor issues with lights not working, dirty/moldy shower curtain, and intermittent TV cable.
This was a good place for 3 couples to share. Waikaloa Village has easy access to many of our favorite beaches. The only downside was that it is managed by Vacasa, our least favorite vacation rental management company. Half the lightbulbs in the kitchen were out as well as one in the bedroom. The can openers were almost unusable even by very strong men. Apparently there was a new dishwasher because the silverware holder was strapped to the back of the dishwasher with the folding basket tops against the front making it impossible to use without getting it set up right. The shower curtain in the tiny master shower dragged on the floor by 8" making the shower seem even smaller. We reached out to Vacasa and were assured that local management would fix things. They did nothing, so we are bringing it up here. Its not a big deal and we enjoyed the views of the ocean and the spacious nature of the house.
We loved this house! It was clean, roomy, and we liked staying in the neighborhood rather than at a resort. Although it got pretty hot inside, the midafternoon breezes cooled the house well.
Our stay was great! Made our little getaway 100% satisfied! Was very hot in the daytime but there was fans which was pretty nice. At night was very cold and we opened all the windows to let the cool breeze in. Overall we did not have any problems with our stay.
A great place to stay - especially if you have more than a few people in your group. Plenty of open space, large rooms, and great location to hit Kona or up over to Waimea.
Highly recommend!
Our family had a wedding to attend and we wanted to select a place a couple our families could stay at together. It was perfect, roomy, clean, and a great safe location.
The listing appears very clean and well kept but our experience was not the case. The white towels, bed sheets, and shower liners were dirty. The screen doors would not open without popping off the track. There is no AC so we had the windows open and fans on which allowed a lot of dust & dirt in and there was no cleaning supplies or vacuum to keep the house clean. The customer service team was responsive to our request for new towels and sheets and credited half the cleaning fee back which was very nice. Overall, for the price of the rental and the misleading listing I would not stay here again.
Easy to book. Great location.
Floors were dirty throughout home. Kitchen faucet leaked.
Rugs in bathroom dirty/stained. Bathtub handle was not attached. Could not adjust ceiling fan speed in living room. Mats in kitchen dirty.
House was clean, spacious, in a quiet neighborhood. All aspects of the reservation and check-in process was easy and efficient. We loved the covered carport, motion-detector lights downstairs, big yard, airy lanai, and so many birds!
We had a truly incredible time in this home. Great place for a family get-together. But definitely not the cleanest. Could use some good scrubbing and some new couches. Also, no A/C, but plenty of fans to keep cool at night.
House very nice and roomy. 3 bedroom 2 bath home away from home. Beautiful views. Could see the ocean and mountains from windows and deck. Shopping nearby and restaurants also.
This home was frustrating in the minimal provisions provided. It has three bedrooms sleeping six but the only table seats four. Four chairs, four placemats, dish sets for four. No table on the lanai and the grill advertised was a table top grill and it was not particularly convenient to sit on the floor to use it. No sauce pans, can opener, spoon long enough to cook with, salt or pepper. No toaster or dish towels. I called the number left for assistance and did receive requested fans for the house, but the toaster, can opener and dishtowels were finally delivered the evening of the sixth day we were there and we left the a day and a half later. The light didn't work in the living room so evening games were a challenge. My side of the bed had no stand or lamp for reading. No dressers and only 12 hangers were provided for 6 of us. We did appreciate the washer and dryer, 2 beach towels, cooler and sand toys. We also utilized the clippers in the storage closet so we could prune the driveway enough to drive in and out without scratching up the cars. Most of the rest of the yard needed a lot of attention as well. There were no instructions on the location of the community pool so we had to make calls to determine that. The pool was so cold the day we went that we didn't return after December 31st to find out if our passes to pool would have allowed us to enter. They stated that they were only good through the 31st and our stay extended until January 3rd. We did enjoy the pickleball courts that were available in the community center. In general this was just a very frustrating stay because of the poorly provisioned home.
