Tiny : Une cabane en A dans les bois

  • Lovely renovated A-frame cabin! Nestled in a beautiful setting surrounded by trees, our cabin is a great place to recharge, escape, and enjoy everything Mt Hood has to offer. Our intent is for our lovely cabin to be a place for people to relax and connect with nature (no tv, but there is wifi), the mountain, and each other. Please be sure to read the full description under "The Space" section below before booking as there are some pertinent details.
    The space
"Tiny" is a quaint cabin nestled in the trees at the edge of Mt Hood. It is a perfect getaway for anyone looking to get out of the hustle and bustle, and connect with nature.

While the cabin sits on a 1/4 acre, this is NOT a remote location. We do have neighbors, and there are houses around.

It is important to note a few things:
    1) This is a minimalist cabin in the woods. There may be some cobwebs. If that is not ok with you, please don't book this cabin, and then leave a review about some cobwebs.
    2) Our cleaner is amazing, but with the super tall ceilings, it is impossible for her to keep up with every single cobweb.
    3) There are wall electric heaters, but the primary heat source is the wood-burning stove. We provide wood and a hatchet to make kindling. We recommend bringing kindling or fire starters if you are not comfortable using a hatchet. During the winter months, if you are not comfortable making fires in a wood-burning stove (we provide directions), this may not be the ideal property for you, and please DON'T book it.
    4) We have a STRICT no pet policy. If we find out that you brought an animal, you will be charged an additional $1000 per animal. and your security deposit will be forfeited.
    5) The vibe of the cabin is to provide a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. For that reason, we do not have a TV, but our internet works great. In addition, we have refrained from installing bright LED lightbulbs, so the lighting gives off more of a quaint vibe than bright lights. Just a note, the ceiling fan has a dimmable light. Please DO NOT book this cabin if dim lighting is not your thing.

Kitchen: The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the cookware and utensils you should need for cooking. There is also a toaster, electric kettle, magic bullet, and pour over coffee setup. We do not provide coffee or tea, but there usually is some olive oil, salt/pepper. So, please remember to bring whatever it is that you prefer to cook with or drink in the morning. Please note, there is no dishwasher or microwave. Also, a few of the dishes have some dings in them. If you are not ok eating out of a dish that may have a small chip in it, this place isn't for you. And, if any of the details above are not acceptable to you, please DO NOT book this cabin, and then complain about it afterwards.

Loft: The loft is an open space overlooking the living room and kitchen. It offers a queen bed, beautiful views of the trees, and great ceiling heights (tall people will definitely fit). Please be aware that access to the loft requires climbing a ladder, and has a wide opening at the top. If you are NOT OK with climbing the ladder (as clearly shown in the photos), please DO NOT book this cabin, and then complain about it in your review. We are completely up front about this, and it is quite frustrating when people don't pay attention to this, and then complain about it in their review. Children under the age of 12 ARE NOT allowed in the loft at any time.

2nd Bedroom: The 2nd bedroom offers twin sized bunk beds that were made with love by us. The views from this room look out at beautiful trees.

Bathroom: To access the bathroom, you need to walk through the main level bedroom (the bedroom with the bunk beds). So, please keep this in mind in regards to your group dynamic. The bathroom shower is not fully enclosed with glass. There is a shower curtain that we highly recommend using in order to keep the water inside the shower area. If you choose not to use the shower curtain, know that water may get on the floor. There are plenty of shower mats on the shelf in the laundry room. It is helpful to keep the shower head pointed straight down, not outward. Again, if this is something that you are not comfortable with, please DO NOT book this cabin, and then complain about it in the review.

There is a great deck with seating for you to enjoy the sun-drenched and cloudy days or for amazing star gazing at night.

    **please note:
-No outdoor fires are permitted at any time.
-Please do not block the shared driveway with our neighbor. There is plenty of space in our driveway area for multiple cars.
    Other things to note
-Please be aware that access to the loft requires climbing a ladder, and has a wide opening at the top. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed in the loft at any time.

-We do not have a tv, radio, or any sort of electronics in the cabin, with the exception of Wifi.

-September-May: We will have firewood (and a hatchet) available, so you can get nice and cozy with the use of the use of the wood stove. We recommend bringing some kindling/fire starters along with you. Again, if making a fire in a wood burning stove is not your thing, or you don't know how, please DO NOT book this cabin.

-Please do not block the shared driveway with our neighbor. There is plenty of space in our driveway area for multiple cars.

-This property is registered and in compliance with the Clackamas County Short Term Rental Ordinance. STR#909-24

It was everything i had hoped for. The cabin was so peacefull and relaxing. Everything was clean/comfortable. The kitchen has pretty much everything to cook a meal. Proximity to groceries and local restraunts is ideal. Looking forward to staying here again.

The cabin was clean and the area was quiet.
Great wood stove. It would have been nice if the stove would have been cleaned of ash prior to arrival. There wasn’t an ash can no wood at the cabin upon arrival as stated, we did find it later. Not a good spot for seniors, and the road in was pretty

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was quiet, peaceful, and exactly what we needed to unplug and enjoy a relaxing anniversary getaway. The cabin was exactly as advertised. Clean, minimalist, and very comfortable. We appreciated the simplicity and the woodsy setting, which made it easy to unwind and enjoy our time together. The no TV was a bonus in my opinion. The only thing worth mentioning (not a complaint, just an FYI for future guests) is that if you're planning to grill, you'll want to bring your own BBQ (tabletop, of course). Other than that, everything was just as expected, and we had a great experience. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape!

We had a great time staying over Thanksgiving weekend. The property was just as described. It’s the kind of place that forces you to slow down in the best way. There’s no TV which just made everything feel quieter and more intentional. Wifi works great - no issues there. The cabin is mainly heated by a woodstove, which became part of the charm. Even though it felt tucked away and peaceful, we were still just a short drive (or walk) from restaurants, which was the perfect balance - quiet mornings and evenings, easy dinners when we didn’t feel like cooking. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you need to cook, which we really appreciated. The only thing missing (or that we couldn't find) was a plug for the sink when doing dishes - not a big deal, just something future guests might want to know. If you’re looking for a peaceful, unplugged getaway that still gives you access to good food and convenience, this cabin is a gem. We’d absolutely stay again.
