Amazing Property

This was an amazing property with a small pool and great location with walking distance to restaurants and bars. Very close to Smugglers Cove and a beautiful beach (Long Bay) just steps from the house.

A 5-Star Stay at the Moonstone Villa!

Enjoyed a wonderful time with family at the Moonstone Villa! It was the perfect place to spread out and gather together to enjoy each others company and dine al fresco on the outdoor patio. Gorgeous water views and just a short walk to the beach. Sam and her team were exceptional and the check in was seamless. I highly recommend this home. It was a lovely, relaxing time.

Lovely getaway for a family

Staying in the West End was a great location. The villa provided a good base for us from which to do daily excursions. It was a good size for our family of 5. The host was very responsive to questions and with recommendations prior to our arrival. They even arranged to meet us at the ferry dock and personally escort us to the villa. I would not hesitate to rent from Villas of Tortola.

Awesome Vacation - Ideal Location

My family had a wonderful time at Long Bay. The location is perfect for beaching it or going out on a boat from Soper's Hole. There are plenty of restaurants close by. We are glad we rented a car so we could explore a good portion of the island.

Wonderful Villa with Great Views and Amenities

Stayed for a week and had a fantastic time !! The place had great amenities and great views. I would definitely come back again. Plus the management team was very helpful and even helped make sure the Villa was Provisioned and helped arrange a rental car.

Great Trip for 3 couples!

Flew into St Thomas the previous night. Stayed over til morning to catch the ferry to Tortola. Early ferry to West End not in service so had to go onto Roadtown, then taxi back to Jerry's car rental. Then onto Moonstone at Long bay. Moonstone. Very Nice! Awesome views, clean, comfortable, grilled 1 night at home. Excellent restaurants nearby. 1748 Restaurant down the hill, with newer Chef Dale, awesome (ate there twice during the week). Very friendly staff. Sebastians, D Coal Pot, Bananakeet all great dinners and close. Hanging with Nigel at Smugglers Beautiful Beach, priceless! Day trips to the Baths and Yost always fun. Until next time.

Loved the location of this Villa

We felt Long Bay was the best beach on the west end. We visited brewers Bay and smugglers cove. The waves at long Bay are bigger and you can rent boogie boards at Tropical Fusion for 10 a day. Tropical Fusion has Friday night bbq and live music. You can walk to the beach and to restaurants from the villa. The villa was clean. I'm disappointed that we didn't get the top room of the villa with the best view. I'm pretty sure we paid for all 3 bedrooms but we were given just 2. (It was my husband and I and our 2 boys) Either way I would have preferred the top bedroomy versus the bottom one. Make sure you bring enough clothes there is not a washer or dryer. The staff was very helpful. They helped us get our groceries and rental car prior to arriving. I reccomend renting a car. Bring bug spray. Check out Celtic powerboats. Overall a great trip. I wasn't overall impressed withave the interior of the villa or the kitchen appliances and utensils. But the exterior patio with the hammock, pool, covered eating area, bbq, and landscaping was very nice. The location is outstanding.

Paradise found !

The Moonstone Villa and Garden Suite were perfect for our family of 4 ( millennial daughters) for the week. So comfortable, great views and location, wonderful set up for cooking and eating outside, great support from the staff! We could walk around the property, walk to Long Bay Beach and short drive to Smuggler's Cove ( our favorite beach on the West End)!! Highly recommend this place and we hope to return next year!

Wonderful villa with spectacular views!

Moonstone was a wonderfully decision. We stayed five nights (wish it were longer) and could not have been more pleased. We had a car which is extremely helpful so we could head to the market for fresh produce and kitchen supplies. A very short walk to Long Bay Beach which was wonderful. A bit of a longer walk is Smugglers Cove, really a special stretch of sand. The villa was exactly what we were looking for and it comes very highly recommended. Looking forward to next time!

Family travel

Our stay at Moonstone was wonderful! The villa was just as advertised ... the villa was clean and in great shape, the views are spectacular, the furniture comfortable and even had weekly cleaning service. There were towels for the bathrooms and the beach, dishes and cookware, an outdoor gas grill, water bottles already filled when we arrived..... we made many trips to the local West End marina grocery store and made dinner every night at the villa. Sam and Sharlene were extremely helpful and available when we had questions, and Sharlene met us at the ferry to take us to the villa so we could find it! The north side location was good for visiting the beaches and snorkling, and convenient to reach Road Town and West End.

Can't say enough about Tortola, Long Bay location, Sam and her staff and especially Moonstone! This was our second stay at Moonstone and loved it. Our refrigerator was stocked with things we needed in advance and the restaurant suggestions perfect. Can't say enough good things and looking forward to THIS years return!!

Highly recommend Moonstone Villa and the services of Villas of Tortola!

Sam (property manager/Villas of Tortola) was extremely helpful. She responded quickly to my availability request and questions. She gave us useful suggestions and contact info for various vendors. It was a last minute trip and we were undecided on a property; Sam enticed us with a discount on the weekly rate. We gladly accepted. Unfortunately, they can’t accept credit cards but Sam reserved the villa without usual upfront payment (there was no time to mail it). We gave a check for the rent /security immediately upon arrival. All arrangements were done via email so no international calls needed. It was hassle free! We rented a SUV from Jerry’s. Jerry was waiting when we got off the ferry and took us to our rental. BTW... Tortola roads are insane. The SUV was a necessity. Sam’s assistant Kia was promptly waiting for us at Jerry’s (great personal service). We followed her to the property. She gave us a quick tour. The Penthouse is exactly as the photos/description depict. Clean, well maintained and has what you need for a comfortable stay. The vaulted ceiling is great. It really makes it feel bright, open and airy. The bed is comfortable. The view is incredible. We loved the two comfy chairs looking out to the ocean, the patio and the fact that the sliding door opens all the way up. They even have a full screen – which you don’t always find in the Caribbean. The kitchenette has all the basics and was stocked with a big jug of drinking water. We never used the TV. There is no WiFi. They did not advertise it, I wrongly assumed they would have it. Sam later explained it’s hopefully being installed in the villa soon. It was actually nice to “disconnect”. Long Bay beach is great, especially if you like to walk the beach. Forewarning, it’s a hike up the hill and then stairs to get to the unit. This may not be suitable for all. The drive up hill to the condo can be scary – but common for Tortola! We had one slight snafu. Our last night we returned late to find out the renters downstairs locked us out. (When we first arrived Kia suggested we leave the key for the shared door in a designated hiding spot. It worked all week with the other renters. When the new renters came in they must not have known it was ours and took it). Anyway, a few expensive calls later, Sam’s husband quickly responded and had someone from the Long Bay Resort let us in. Not ideal but things happen. Sam’s team responded well and she very apologetic for the mishap! Great overall experience!

Couldn't Have Been Any Better

Everything at Moonstone Villa was perfect. We couldn't have been more pleased. Sam did a great job of helping us with our reservations and other arrangements. Our rental car was waiting for us at the ferry dock. I recommend a car to bounce around the island. Long Bay Beach is beautiful and a short walk from the villa, but there are other great beaches on the island as well. We particularly liked Smugglers (good snorkeling) and Cane Garden Bay. The weather was fantastic. Cold and snowy back home, 84 with a wind chill of 82 on Tortolla. I was hesitant to write this great review. I don't want the villa to be booked when we return, and we will return.

Paradise Found in "Nature's Little Secret"

We stayed at Moonstone Villa for one week in May and wished we could have stayed longer. It all began with Sam's kindness meeting us at the West End ferry terminal and driving us to the villa. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxing and the views are extraordinary. The bed was oh so comfortable and the deck was a dining delight. Long Bay Resort has a lovely pool and poolside bar for light meals and drinks, my favourite being the painkiller, of course! The photos do not lie and it really is more breathtaking when you are actually there. We have travelled quite a lot around the world and would rank this in our top three destinations, competing with the North Shore of Kauai and Phuket, Thailand. Everything was immaculate on the property and within the villa. The ladies at the front desk were always polite and helpful. The food in the restaurant was quite good, and the food at the near-by restaurant, Sebastian's, was fantastic! We rented a car from Jerry's and they came and picked us up from the villa, brought us to the rental office to complete the paperwork, and then we were off. When we left Tortola, we dropped our car rental off at Jerry's and then they drove us to the ferry. This is exceptional customer service. We thoroughly enjoyed the laid back, casual style of Tortola and the friendly, polite people. These are not qualities found everywhere in the world and are qualities to be proud of. We would recommend Sebastian's for a delicious dinner, Pussers at Sopers Hole, especially the chicken wings and potato chip tree, Jerry's car rental, Smugglers Cove for a divine beach experience, and Captain Don out of Road Town for a deep sea fishing charter. We would recommend this villa without a second thought for anyone heading to Tortola for vacation. We are already thinking of returning next year..........

Moonstone Villa The Best

We have stayed at many villa's at Long Bay over the past 11 years and Moonstone is by far the best villa that we have seen. It has been recently renovated and the owners have provided for every detail and amenity that makes the stay totally relaxing. The house is stocked with all needed paper products, towels, utensils, blenders, glassware, TV's, VCR's BBQ grill and everything else to make your vacation perfect. Sam was very helpful but we never had to call her because the villa is in excellent condition! The housekeeping every 3 days was more than adequate and they did a very thorough job. We will stay there again and we highly recommend it this little place in paradise!

Best of Times

We returned to Long Bay after staying at several other rental locations on Tortola and were very happy to be back. Our group of four stayed on the Garden Suite and Studio of the townhome, Moonstone, all beautifully decorated and exceedingly comfortable. The location is prime and we were able to walk to the Long Bay beach, swim at the pool and dine at Long Bay's 1748 House. Smuggler's Beach is a short drive away and we were close to other beaches, restaurants and boating opportunities. We regularly went a few miles to the lovely Soper’s Hole for supplies, shopping and a casual dinner or lunch at Pusser‘s. Many nights we stayed in and grilled our dinner while enjoying the amazing view from our covered deck. Property Manager Sam and her husband, J.C., were just a phone call away at all times. Problems were few but their responsiveness was invaluable when we had questions or ran out of gas for the outdoor grill or needed help with the TV or wanted more linen. Small issues but we appreciated their prompt attention and helpfulness. We are looking forward to returning to Moonstone next year and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation spot.

Wonderful accommodation and a perfect location on Tortola!

We (a couple in our 50's) stayed for 16 nights in the Garden Suite and we had a wonderful time! It has been recently updated with new furniture and was very tastefully done. It was clean and comfortable and bright. It had everything you needed. The bed was very comfortable and the numerous fans and screen doors kept you comfortable without the use of the a/c ( which is available as well) The views were wonderful and the location at the Long Bay Resort was perfect as you had the use of the pool beachchairs, beach towels, fitness centre and the restaurant. Sam was very accomodating and we both highly recommend it . Location is perfect for your visit to Tortola Sugar Mill Restaurant just down the road which had excellent food as well as Bananarama Both had excellent food! Sopers Hole Marina was 10 min away for groceries and some small shops.

Family Fun

I couldn't have been more pleased to have our family of five stay here for a weeks vacation. It is very tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. We spent a great deal of our time outside on the large deck and hosted a few BBQ nights with friends and family. We were pleasantly surprised by the privacy both in and outside and were lucky enough to book with Sam and JC again, so trusted their judgement. Our teens took full advantage of the pool and tennis court at Long Bay Resort. Easy access to beaches, activities and restaurants makes for a pleasant stay. I would consider returning to this villa with my family. The next time, I'll take Sam up on picking some supplies up before we arrive :).

Better than 5 stars!!!!

My husband and I spent 6 days at the Moonstone Villa and were not disappointed! We wished that we could have stayed longer. The pictures posted on the listing description are spot-on. The furnishings are tasteful, island decor; the kitchen is fully stocked; the gas BBQ is a wonderful addition.. Sam, the owner, was very helpful and even stopped by to see if everything was okay. Before we arrived, we ordered some food from Bobbie's Market, and the order was there. Sam also arranged for someone to pick us up at the ferry when we arrived and Paul, the driver, was available whenever we needed him. Long Bay Resort has every amenity a resort features...a lovely pool area, complete with a lap pool and a swim-up bar, spa, restaurants, and a car rental. Due to the fact that the resort is on the windward side of Tortola, a cooling sea breeze is constant. If one does not to stay by the pool, the beach is a short walk and has chaise lounges for the guests (be sure to walk down the beach to see Nature Boy!). If one is searching for a romantic stay with your honey, Moonstone Villa is the ideal place to rekindle the romance! Go, relax and listen to the ocean put you asleep. We will definitely return.
