Fantastic location for visiting Interlaken and the Jungfrau region. Easy walk to trains and buses to Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Wengen. Pascal and Cindy are wonderful hosts and the home is so comfortable and relaxing with a great kitchen, beautiful views, comfy beds and baths. Wilderswil is lovely and quiet. Lots of markets and restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful stay at the chalet. Pascal was a warm and friendly host with excellent english which helped with our family being from the UK. A family of 4, therefore our children were able to have a bedroom each, which was awesome to give them some space on their own after a busy day. The property had everything you required, plenty of toilets, excellent shower facilities, well laid out kitchen/living area and even a sauna. Whole property was clean and always a good temperature. The location was perfect for us, we travelled via train from the UK, with the chalet only being a short walk from the station which linked to everything in the Jungfru region or further afield via Interlaken OST. Trains are very regular. The village of Wilderswil is quiet and away from the heavy tourist locations such as Grindelwald and Interlaken, which meant it was always peaceful at the chatlet. There are two well stocked shops near the train station for all your needs, and if required a larger store 15 minutes walk away. We did the rope walk recommended by Pascal which was only about 15 minutes walk past the local brewery, both worth a visit. We did not eat out locally, tended to eat out on our travels and have an evening meal back at the chalet most nights. Would 100% recommend and hope to return in the future.

Great place to stay for large family

We loved the home and the location. We were able to travel easily and conveniently to all the great places in the region. The hosts were friendly and easy to work with. The kitchen was easy to use and having three bathrooms was a huge plus. We would definitely stay there again.

The house is well situated for visiting the country via bus/train. Pascal gave us his advice on where to go & what to see, depending on the weather and/or crowds. I have stayed in many VRBO homes over the years and this house is probably the cleanest I have had the pleasure to rent.

Beautiful place great location in Interlaken region

Pascal and Cindy’s house was perfect for our family of 4 (2 kids ages 8 and 6) for our 4 night stay. Kids love the beds/rooms in the attic area. We had lots of space to use. This place could easily accommodate up to 7 adults (3 Queen beds and 1 single). Very clean, great location, excellent water pressure with lots of hot water. Washer/dryer was great. We didn’t use the sauna as it was high summer but can see the attraction for a cooler time. Highly recommend!

Perfect

I couldn’t have been happier with our decision to stay here. Wilderswil is a charming, peaceful town that has great views of the mountains and easy proximity to all the fun of the region, without the crowds of Interlaken. With the train station only a 10-minute walk away, plus free parking at the house, it was easy for us to get to activities in Interlaken, Giessbach, Lauterbrunnen, Schilthorn, etc. and come back in the evening to have dinner and stroll through the small, picturesque streets of Wildswil. There are several restaurants near the house. We also bought groceries and cooked several times at the house. The house itself was the perfect size for our family of four, and had everything we needed. Hosts Pascal and Cindy were very helpful and responsive. Remember to ask for the regional tourism card—that will give you free train and bus rides to Interlaken, as well as discounts at Harder Kulm and other spots. The house has two comfortable bedrooms (one with a queen bed, one with a double bed). There is also a loft with a double bed, but note that it has a low ceiling—so, it’s perfect for kids, but probably not comfortable for an adult couple.

Swiss adventure

We have recently returned from our family holiday in Wilderswil and although we had a fabulous time, we were a little disappointed with our accommodation. For the money we paid I don’t think it represented the quality of the apartment. It was much smaller than what the photos show. The dining area was very small when 6 people were eating. There was insufficient kitchen equipment. i.e., 5 cereal bowls for 6 people, not enough of the right size cooking pans for 6. The glasses were a miss match. On arrival, the cutlery was dirty with dried egg on the forks and there were nail clippings on the bedside table. The poor quality of bed linen that did not match, broken zip in the pillow case, none of it was ironed, and the curtains did not fit the windows and let in too much light in the mornings. Outside space for us to sit was lacking and one night the owner lit a Bar-B-Q fire right under our windows with wood producing enough smoke to require us to close all the windows. The owner came and told us to make sure we turn off the lights as soon as we had arrived and not unpacked and settled in. We were provided with two benches 1 chair and a table after we asked to use the bar b que and garden. The outside appearance of the chalet was a real disappointment; lots of weeds and looked unkept and unloved, not by any means a traditional well looked after chalet. This holiday was a special treat for our family and I was embarrassed and disappointed that it did not come up to my expectations. To cap it all, the owner at 9.30 the night before we left, presented us with the tax bill which he required in cash, not card or BACS. Fortunately, although this was a correct charge, we had forgotten about it and only just had enough Swiss francs left to pay it. It would have been better if this had been presented within a few days of our arrival whilst we had plenty of cash.

Charming holiday house

The village of Wilderswil is quiet, charming, and with convenient access to recreation within the Berner Oberland area. We traveled with my family of 5 and with my parents and the bedroom bathroom accommodations were terrific. Two bedrooms with double beds was perfect for two couples and then the loft bedrooms upstairs were perfect for my 3 teenagers. The main bathroom by the bedrooms was spacious and had a beautiful view of the village. The kitchen, dining room, and living room area was clean and nicely decorated but got a little bit cramped. The property owners were friendly and helpful when we had questions, and to help make our stay enjoyable.

Good Property Very Conveniently Located

I stayed in this property from 13th, May to 19th May ' 2018 with my family comprising of 6 adults and 2 children. The property is very conveniently located with just a two minutes walk to the local bus-stop and five minutes walk to the railway station. Interlaken is just 10 minutes away by either bus or train and being local tourists, the travel from Wilderswil to Interlaken is free by bus and train. However, the property is not suitable for 6+2 as claimed ! There are only two bedrooms with a double bed each and the third double bed is located in the attic with additional two single mattresses laid on the floor on way to the attic. The height of the attic is varying from 2 feet to 6 feet at the center ! This third bedroom in the attic has no door and the other two bedrooms have no latch/lock on the doors ! The property is actually well suited for a group of 4 +2. Also you shouldn't be surprised if you find couple of appliances not in working order on arrival. To sum up, the property is excellently located and large enough for a group 4 Adults + 2 Children. NK

Stunning location in the Bernese Oberland

A perfect week in the mountains. The property is ideally located a few minutes walk from Wilderswil railway station, through which all trains up into the mountains around the Jungfrau stop: Interlaken Ost is a mere 4 minutes by train (Post Bus also takes you there - 2 stops both around 200 metres from the house), and Grindelwald/Lautebrunnen are only 30 mins by train. The weather in our week was duff(!), but we decided to venture out every day anyway as we have 2 young children (5 and 1 years old). Getting the Bernese Oberland pass meant that we started every day with a walk down to Wilderswil station before heading somewhere to ride a cable car or mountain railway. House is lovely and cosy - well-stocked kitchen and lovely downstairs spa room (sauna and jet bath!) - and was a great place to come back to after exploring the alps. Lovely evening views up to the Jungfrau/Mönch and down to Harder Kulm/down Brienzersee. In addition, the owners Cindy and Pascal are lovely and will help wherever they can with your plans. Can't wait to go back!

Great place to stay in the heart of Switzerland

The Swiss Holiday House is perfect accommodation for doing anything in Switzerland. Located near Wilderswil train station, the house is easy to get to and offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. Cindy and family are very welcoming and happy to help with anything. A homeaway in a fairyland!!!

We had our best stay ever! Surrounded by serene mountains, scenic beauty all around and a peaceful town with beautiful chalets and warm people around. Everything was good about our stay no hassles in the house or while traveling out. Any help you need Pascal n Cindy were always there, where to go for sightseeing, shopping, to buy food and all other things. Their home had all the facilities we need - first n foremost free wifi which is a necessity when in a different country, a well equipped kitchen as well, the best was Jacuzzi which we enjoyed a lot as whenever we came home from our sight seeing we used it to relax our tired body. An unforgettable experience overall, mind it - a Good one!
