« Suite 133 was lovely, spotless and perfect for our short trip to the area. We did not use the pool, but it looked nice. Just a note-if you have mobility problems, you need to climb in the jacuzzi tub to access the shower. The water takes a bit to heat up, but it eventually does nicely. I would recommend this suite for anyone wishing to explore the beautiful areas of WV. »

« First and foremost, the condo was clean and the beds were quite comfortable. I loved that it had a little balcony to enjoy my coffee in the morning and to view stars at night. It is in a beautiful setting and only 4 miles from Davis, where you can find places to eat. The location is ideal for visiting many natural areas and Blackwater State Park. It was very quiet the week we were there in early October too. »

« We’ve been coming to Davis for a long time but this was our first time staying in Black Bear. The Bear Lair was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and plenty of firewood. The central location was great as we bounced between Dolly Sods, Timberline, White Grass and downtown Davis. Abby was super responsive and accommodating. We definitely plan to return. »

« Probably one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed. Clean, great location, peaceful, and the host even decorated for the holidays. The only iffy part of the experience was that the water left a bit of a residue, almost like the soap never fully rinsed off when washing your hands. Not really a complaint but if anyone else stays and experiences this know it’s likely just a water softener and not something gross or scary. »

« This is a very comfortable and cozy place for families to stay. quiet, clean, spacious and inviting. Enough kitchen equipment for family to cook. Bathroom was freshly renovated. The owner provided lots of extra supplies so we found everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this place. »

« Loved the cabin! My only complaint was that the upstairs bed got hot during the night making my daughter uncomfortable. We put the fan up there the second night but it didn’t seem to help. She slept on the loveseat. Everything else we loved! »
