The house was nice, in a quiet area. The bedrooms were great. It was a little nerve wracking when the lower unit was rented, as we didn't want to disturb them.
We had an excellent stay with family for our son’s college tournament. We had all age ranges (10 months to 74 yrs old). Very comfortable beds & linens. Love the layout of the home! Having 2 bedrooms on main floor was a bonus & such big bedrooms. Comfortable seating for all of us , plus the bonus college kids that stopped by! You won’t regret staying here!!
This location is perfect for visiting the city and wanting not to stay in the city. The rooms accommodate a larger family or group. The tub had a slow drain and we couldn’t reach the host during our stay. They did reach out once our stay was over and apologized. Outside of the slow drain it was a great experience. I’m sure they will fix that soon.
This house is cute and family friendly. There are a lot of things outdated and I wish there was more lamps/light for nighttime but overall this house has so much character and my family enjoyed our stay so much!
Everything was great for my family. Enough room, beds, spacious place. Check-in and check-out was smooth. Only thing with check-in was that the door was slightly open. Other than that, we felt safe.

The price was great but the lack of communication from the host was problematic. Beds are comfortable but hot water broke (host did fix it promptly) and shower doesn't drain well. This is a split unit property. Because of weed smoking in the basement unit, we had to stay somewhere different the first night. The host was unresponsive until we asked VRBO to cancel and refund our trip. After multiple calls from VRBO customer service, the host responded. We were refunded for the first night which was appreciated. The host rarely responded over VRBO instead preferring to text (meaning VRBO can't access your communications)
Not satisfied at all the house was dirty. It was not clean. One bathroom with the bathroom was very nice. A bad odor in the house and the owner stays on property that is not that is not accepted. We did not feel comfortable there with him on the property.

You get what you paid for
Call the property was clean by many standards. Everything is just extremely outdated and needs to be replaced from the towels to the linens to the dishes, pots pans, etc..
The property was old. A little beat up, but perfectly serviceable for what we wanted (a place to crash in between outings and at night). For the price, this was perfectly fine. The problem was that there was a moldy smell that was overpowering, especially on the ground floor. My pajamas still smelled like the musty moldy smell the night after i left and i slept upstairs.
Don’t let the “upper floor” on this listing scare you away, it is a full house you have access to which was our concern. There’s a second (basement) unit that is fully separate- although you need to be conscious of noise on the first floor of the house if it’s rented which was fine with us. Good for a local wedding we were attending- tons of space. Perfect for our group of 4 (late 20’s, early 30’s) but would be a good sized property for a family as well. We could have had 2 more adults or 4 children comfortably stay. Second bathroom on first floor was a plus.

I would not recommend this place for families or those traveling with children.
We stayed here for 8 nights and 9 days. The interior is old, making noise with every step, and there were several broken areas. The shower on the second floor didn’t drain well, and communication with the host was not smooth.
We were aware that there were other guests on the lower floor, but the noise problem made our stay very difficult. One night, the guests downstairs invited friends over after midnight, smoked marijuana, and were loud all night, leaving only after 5 AM. As a result, we had to endure the smells coming up from below, and the noise kept us from sleeping until morning.
I would not recommend this place for families or those traveling with children.

Ah, where do I begin? If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to stay in a place that kind of resembles the listing photos—if you squint, tilt your head, and imagine a different house entirely—then boy, are you in for a treat!Let’s talk ambiance. The creaking floors really add character—especially when you’re trying to tiptoe to the bathroom at 2 a.m. and end up sounding like you’re being hunted by ghosts. Very immersive. And don’t worry about sneaking in late; the entire house will know. The chairs? Well, they do their best. One tried to launch me into a new dimension. It’s impressive, really, how they hold together just enough to lull you into a false sense of security before surrendering to gravity. And yes, the tub still drains slowly, just as past reviewers lovingly warned. You’ll have time for a full existential crisis while waiting for your bathwater to disappear. Pair that with a shower faucet that’s off-center—as if it were installed by someone with a deep resentment toward symmetry—and you’ve got yourself a spa experience like no other. But hey, it is in a nice area. You can almost forget the minor inconveniences while looking out at the beautiful neighborhood and thinking, “I wonder what it’s like to stay in one of those houses.”To be fair, the place has potential. Unfortunately, it’s currently stuck somewhere between “charming fixer-upper” and “museum of missed opportunities.” A few upgrades—and by a few I mean many—could really bring it into this decade.
My daughter and their friends had a wonderful time in Chicago and the hours worked perfectly for us. The house was clean and the host was very responsive.
